Well no one has answered...But, from I understand it's only Mick. John Lennon produced it...That's all I know. Maybe someone else can give their two cents on it... |

I heard "Too Many COOKS" was recorded in Los Angeles around 1974 when Lennon was living there (but I can't prove that's correct). |

It's a cover of a Holland-Dozier-Holland tune originally recorded by a band called The Eighth Day.

What boot is it on? |

I have it on a CD called "Shot of Salvation", full of a bunch of random live cuts and studio outtakes from the early 70s.

I have this song on The Black Box boot.
It is not that good.
Coincidentally, the title is also the name of a new book coming out on the Clinton administration.

The great song, "Too Many Cooks(Spoil The Soup)",originally charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on 12/20/69 by the soul group, "100 PROOF Aged In Soul". Released on the Hot Wax label, it peaked at #94. I'm sure it charted much higher on Billboard's R & B chart. The group had a huge top 10 hit the following year, "Somebody's Been Sleeping". |

Also they recorded "Bring It On Home To Me" (Sam Cooke) with (not verified) John Lennnon on vocals. Mick Jagger produced this track.
