It wasnt a cash deal though, it included a bunch of stock. This happened yesterday, I see this as a very good thing for Google stockholders.

Saint Sway You Tube was a free service... we'll see how long that lasts.

Hosting huge amounts of streaming video on the net costs money. Just to operate, reports had YouTube dropping about $1.5 million A MONTH!

it'll be interesting to see what Google has in store...

then what?

Napster Scandal Pt II?

A lot YT's content is copyrighted material. If you run a paid adverstisement along with a bands video, they're gonna have to kick $$ back to the artist.

its kinda sticky. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. I'm sure Google has already figured this out...

Saint Sway maybe it'll remain a free site like Flickr did after the Yahoo buyout, but will be part of an advertising or promo vehicle for some behind the scenes future google strategy?

Just a small town girl, livin in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south detroit
He took the midnight train goin anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(chorus)

Dont stop believin
Hold on to the feelin
Streetlight people

corgi37 If they get rid of the fetish and cbt videos, i'll be so pissed!

The good news is, once they fuck this up (which they will) some one else will come along and replace it.
