sirmoonie Check it bleeds, when it came around and blossomed, rap was an amazing force, much like punk. Friggin' white people aren't the only ones who can have the blues, ya know. But also like punk, its limited to its attitude and once thats gone, which is really quick, there is just a lot of copying and morphing.

There are probably a handful of essential rap albums, and some of them are greatest hits. But they are essential, and if you can move past the MTV/honkey vision of what rap should be, there is some stuff in there as bad ass as anything the Sex Pistols and Ramones ever did. IMO. MO o'H.
