It's your glorious time of the year, dear Libra! October could easily turn out to be one of your favorite months of 2006. You'll be nothing less than a triple threat with the Sun, Venus, and Mars all in Libra, staunchly protecting your interests. Not only that, but you will also have a tender full moon falling in your relationship sector on October 7. That full moon could show you just how adored you are by at least one loving person. What a special month for you and happily, it all arrives at birthday time!
Let's look closely at that full moon due October 7. Falling in your house of serious, committed partnerships of all kinds, you may seal a final agreement with a personal partner (such as a spouse or sweetheart), or with a business partner or entity. If you are self-employed, you may shake hands on a collaborative effort or joint venture, or draw up papers and sign a contractual deal. On almost any level, you and your partner seem ready to announce a joint decision that will strongly affect your future paths.
If this full moon brings you closer to someone in your personal life, you may, for example, get engaged or married now, or you may decide it's time to move in with your sweetheart. Or, if you are already in an established relationship, you may jointly commit to an important future goal, such as to buy a house or start a business together.
I will admit that a full moon falling opposite your sign can sometimes bring out difficulties or resentments that your partnered has harbored in your relationship, or if at work you have any competitors or detractors, you would know by the full moon October 7. Rather than bring you together, this full moon can feel like the two of you are pulling apart. Opposites like this are common at full moons. This period will be highly emotional (after all, it's a full moon), and it will be doubly so if your birthday falls on or within five days of October 7. At some point you may suddenly get a case of the jitters about all the important moves you are making. That's natural, but don't let those fears stop you.
The specific aspects to a full moon matter, so let's have a look. On October 7, Saturn will send you his gift of stability and clarity of thinking to the way you handle your committed relationships. Neptune will be charming and encouraging, showering you with possibilities for artistic and creative opportunities, or in a personal way, to enjoy luxurious pleasures. Pluto, often the zodiac's bad boy, will be on his best behavior now too, wearing his Sunday best and trying hard to use all the manners his mother taught him to please you, dear Libra. After all, he knows this is your birthday month!
Indeed, if there were ever a month to corral your courage, take a risk, and reach out to the world with both arms, this is the time to do so.
If your birthday falls on October 7, or within five days of this date, then this full moon will touch you directly. When one has a full moon on or near one's birthday, as you have this year, it means your whole year ahead will bring the projects, endeavors, and relationships to fullness. That may mean you need another mountain to climb now that you've seen success on past efforts, so see what happens.
This month is important because you currently have Mars in Libra for the first time in two years, a blessing that started early last month. Mars will add to your confidence, courage and your will to succeed, and happily, when you have Mars in your sign, others tend to approve your ideas. This will be the case until Mars moves on to Scorpio on October 23.
Mars in Libra may make you a little too assertive and combative, however, so vow to remain above the fray. Venus in Libra will help you remember to take the high road. By remaining diplomatic, your progress will be more consistent and impressive. If you are planning to leave the relationship or job, Venus in Libra will help you do so more gracefully.
To make good use of Mars' help, make appointments with VIPs who you feel can help you advance your dreams. While not every one of your projects will bear fruit, most will, because Mars will act like Miracle Gro in your potting soil! This planet is THAT powerful! The caveat is that you HAVE to plan those key meetings now, while Mars is still in Libra (prior to October 23). Dear Libra, get cracking!
There is another reason to have a sense of urgency this month. Mercury, the planet of thinking, communication, contracts, and agreements will be retrograde from October 28 until November 17. It will be important that you don't sign contracts during this phase, and don't announce any key decisions for the future then either. Mercury retrograde periods are always marked by change and evolving conditions, so with nothing as firmed up as it may look, it will be impossible to make informed choices.
We always see slowdowns occur as a retrograde period approaches, so try to wrap up key talks by mid-October, and plan to resume your initiations on or after November 20.
Keep in mind that you should never act on the exact start or end date of a retrograde period either, because at those points Mercury will be acting like a ball of static. (This time those dates would be October 28 and November 17.) Alas, the outcome of your actions would likely be quite disappointing. Deals signed with Mercury out of phase always need to be renegotiated in time, if you even want to go back into the relationship at all.
There is a positive side to Mercury retrograde too, however. Facts about cold cases get discovered, old family mysteries are solved, and missing objects are suddenly found.
There's more reason to be optimistic: This will be the first year that Mercury has been retrograde PRIOR to the holiday shopping season rather than during it. Since it is not wise to shop for expensive gifts during these phases because Mercury rules shopping and commerce, we all stand a better chance of finding the right gift for our loved ones without all those exchanges later! If you want to give a loved one an electronic item like a computer or iPod, buy it in early October, or wait to resume shopping to anytime after November 20.
Romantically, there will be a plethora of sparkling dates to watch this month. Why would that be so? You have both Venus and Mars in Libra, and those are the two planets in charge of increasing your sex appeal! You haven't had favor like this in ages, so your magnetism should be very strong now, even if you aren't particularly aware of it yourself!
As lovers, Venus and Mars adore being together but haven't been able to break away from their other cosmic duties long enough to do so. Certainly the universe has given each planet plenty to do around the horoscope wheel of your chart. Now, in October, they will be together and you'll feel the difference. Mars will remain in your sign until October 23, and Venus until October 24.
Now, let's look at your most romantic evenings:
Your first romantic evening could arrive on October 4, when Mars will reach out to Neptune, planet of dreams, sentimentality, romance, and beauty. This could turn out to be a very poetic, gentle evening for love. The moon will be in tender Pisces, only intensifying this lovely theme.
Next comes the tender full moon of October 7 that will fall in your partnership sector, operative plus or minus four days from this date. We discussed it in depth at the start of your report, and as said, this could work in one of two ways, so watch to see how things play out. If you were not born near October 7, events will be far less dramatic.
All Libras should watch October 10, when the Sun in Libra will reach out to Neptune, and Mercury (still strong at this point) will meet with Uranus. Potentially, this makes for a wildly romantic evening, one that would bubble up lots of conversation and witty fun. The moon will be in Gemini, a compatible "double bodied" sign suggesting whomever you meet with on this night you'll probably want to see again very soon.
Friends are funny, wise, and enormously distracting (in the best sense) on October 11 and 12 - if you want to go out with a group, this would be your day.
Romance will be back on your agenda on Friday, October 13 (what a week, eh?) when Venus in Libra also has a quiet meeting with glamorous Neptune. For pure Hollywood romance, this would be a hard night to beat.

Money, your salary, and personal possessions will become the center of your thinking once the Sun moves into Scorpio on October 23.
