After a big delay of about three hours, we just left the band in the Hotel, they looked a little bit tired.
I was joking with Max asking him to play Goin' Down, when I said "I know you don't have that one in your setlists" Mick asked me if I knew about the current setlist and I mentioned the SW5 site for the reviews. Unfortunately we miss a lot.
I was also talking with Max about his memories about the last Mexican show as Mick didn't remember at all, but Max neither LOL, anyway he told me that it was an expensive place with everybody drinking fine champagne (it was in
the 1987-1988 New Years Eve) and that it was not a great show at all.
It was a great surprise that Mick remembers ROCKS OFF, mentioning the picture with Bruce Willis as a rare and in fact it is, I explained the story behind it.
Tomorrow we will have the TV reporters early morning at the hotel, the sound check at 1:00 P.M. and the opening band (friends since more than 30 years ago and two of them ex-band mates) will have the sound check at 5:00 p.m.
the show will be at 8:00 p.m. the opening band starts at 8:30 it is an "OLD" star blues band also known as The Jurassic Blues Band with 7 members: three guitarists, piano, bass, drums and one great harmonica player. In fact it is not a former band, but some musicians together just specially for this event, they don't play together normally, they joined to make a special opening with blues only, you know we will have a lot of fans of the Rolling
Stones asking for Stones music, rock... so it was a good idea to warm them up for a night of BLUES.
When I asked Mick about playing a song from his first album in Mexico, he told me that he will play one in the second set, so maybe it will be like yesterday, a set, intermission and a second set.
I'm so tired to write more, but let me know that the band is very happy to be here, Michael was laughing when I said "Welcome back to the land of Blues" hahahaha, the new drummer, Godfrey, agree that Mexico has great bluesmen. The blues comes from the south, from the poor places, to play it
the only thing you need are the cheapest instruments you can buy, a harmonica and a guitar.
The legendary Max Middleton took a photo of Mick with me I hope it works and will show it tomorrow!
