Until then you are a liar, just like Foley

Son, Foley was a Congressman, not a Senator

Do you make a conscience effort to get something wrong on every post or does it just work out that way?

You don't defend him, that is true, but by bringing up Clinton you are comparing a bad act to a bad act, then you leave yourself wide open, since the bad acts differ greatly in the moral and more importantly criminal aspects.
Take my advice, and defend Hastert, since he seems to have only made ethical mistakes by looking at the political implications and his party's power. I hope for his sake, he didn't cover this up. I do wonder why the Democrat was left out of the loop when the emails were discovered... That reeks of bad judgement at best or at worst, a criminal cover up.

Even Sean Hannity, who always can turn water into wine with spin, is pretty much at a loss with this...
He's reaching back to the 80's scandals and digging up dirt on Murtha and Abscam. Which in case anyone saw the tapes, show Murtha turning down money.
Gay Republicans, howe do they live with themselves among such hateful people who preech Gods love and family values? Seems they get drunk and try to fuck teenagers!

I like Hastert, he ups the beef. Better hope he doesn't get smoked on this Angola pigeon-gate scandal, because then we probably get Henry Hyde - that guy is a friggin' hack bang. Think sweltering tube socks and tinsel X-mas trees.

Wrong. There goes that emotion again

Hastert for one. He said he knew of the emails and confronted Foley. Why didn't he send up red flags. Hastert also admitted to conversations with other Republicans, but left out The Democrat. Was this for fear of looking bad, keeping power and allowing a crime to take place?

Brian Ross and Maddy Sauer Report:

Former Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) interrupted a vote on the floor of the House in 2003 to engage in Internet sex with a high school student who had served as a congressional page, according to new Internet instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.

ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.

This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp.

Hastert is a slob and Foley should be in jail

Having said that, Hastert only had the non sexual emails, he just got the dirty stuff Friday. He confronted Foley if there was anything else and Foley lied to Hastert. If hastert had it a long time ago he should resign also

He left out the Dem because it only needs to be reported to the Speaker of The House, who happens to be........Hastert. Hastert had no obligation under the rules to notify any Dem

However, Republicans yesterday submitted a proposal to change that so both parties are notified

Rove didn"t "escape" indictment, he wasnt indicted. You lefties had him in jail in your minds but as it turns out he did nothing that would bring any charges

Shooter at Amish school told wife he molested years ago, dreamed of doing it again
By Associated Press
Posted Tuesday, October 03, 2006

QUARRYVILLE, Pennsylvania _ A man who laid siege to a one-room Amish schoolhouse, killing five girls, told his wife by cell phone shortly before opening fire that he had molested two young relatives decades ago and was tormented by "dreams of molesting again," authorities said today.

Charles Carl Roberts IV, 32, had sexual lubricant with him, along with and flex-tie plastic handcuffs he had bought seven days earlier, but police have no evidence that he actually did molest the children at the small Amish school, said State Police Commissioner Jeffrey B. Miller.

Roberts had chained the girls together in a line at the blackboard and barricade the doors after sending the boys and adults away, Miller said. He also had weapons and supplies indicating he was prepared for a long stand-off, said the police commissioner.

"He states in his suicide note that he had dreams about doing what he did 20 years ago again," Miller said.

Police could not immediately confirm Roberts' claim about molesting young relatives when Roberts would have been a just a child himself, Miller said, and he said Roberts' family members knew nothing of molestation in his past.

Roberts left behind notes for his wife and three children that also talked about his anguish over the loss of the couple's newborn daughter, Elise, in 1997, Miller said.

"The note that he left for his wife talks about the good memories together, the tragedy with Elise, it focuses on his life being changed forever ... over the loss of Elise, his hatred toward himself, his hatred towards God as a result of that event, and he alludes to this other reason for this anger but he can't discuss it with her and it happened 20 years ago," Miller said.

When Roberts spoke with his wife by cell phone from inside the school at 10:50 a.m. Monday, he had been there for at least half an hour and he told her then that he had molested young relatives two decades earlier, Miller said.

Shortly after police reached the school, they heard gunfire. The young Amish girls had been shot "execution style" and the gunman was dead in what became the third deadly school shooting in the United States in less than a week.

Miller identified the victims as Naomi Rose Ebersole, 7; Anna Mae Stoltzfus, 12; Marian Fisher, 13; Mary Liz Miller, 8; and her sister Lina Miller, 7.

Five other children remained hospitalized Tuesday, four of them in critical condition. State police spokeswoman Linette Quinn said the survivors were "coming along very well."

Roberts, a father of three and milk truck driver from the nearby town of Bart, was not Amish and did not appear to be targeting the Amish specifically, Miller said. He said Roberts seemed bent on killing young girls and apparently figured he could succeed at the lightly guarded schoolhouse.

"Roberts' actions were scripted," Miller said. "He had a mental script that he had already gone through in his mind and plans for what he was going to do until the time that the police arrived."

Early that morning, Roberts ran his milk route as usual, then he and his wife prepared for their own children for school, Miller said.

While Roberts' wife went to a morning prayer group, Roberts drove to the tiny Amish school to carry out his plan, Miller said.

He had supplies for lengthy siege, including three guns, a stun gun, two knives, a pile of wood and a bag with 600 rounds of ammunition, plus clothing, toilet paper, bolts and rolls of clear tape, police said.

"We know in speaking to the teacher that he walked in, he had a gun in his hand and he began to speak to the students: 'Have you ever seen this?'" Miller told ABC's "Good Morning America" Tuesday morning.

"Obviously the teacher was very concerned right away," Miller said. "He wasn't agitated, but he was very serious about what he was doing, and methodical in how he separated students, allowed certain people to leave, and then began to bind the female students he had at the blackboard.

"They weren't able to get away. They were basically standing, bound to each other, their legs were bound together. They couldn't run away from that location."

Before killing the girls, Roberts had released about 15 boys, a pregnant woman and three women with infants, then barred the doors with desks and wood and secured them with nails, police said.

The attack on the tiny, one-room schoolhouse amid the farm fields of Lancaster County led the Bush administration to call for a school violence summit within days to discuss possible federal action to help communities prevent violence and deal with its aftermath.

The Amish traditions of simple living, including the lack of phones in the school, complicated the situation for police responding to the attack and for the families. The county in which the school is located is the heart of what is known as the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, the pastoral home of thousands of Amish people.

Many of the parents refused to fly in planes and had to be driven to see their children at hospitals, which made identifications difficult, Miller said. He said some families were taken to the wrong hospitals amid the confusion.

In a statement released to reporters, Roberts' wife, Marie, called her husband "loving, supportive and thoughtful."

"He was an exceptional father," she said. "He took the kids to soccer practice and games, played ball in the backyard and took our 7-year-old daughter shopping. He never said no when I asked him to change a diaper."

"Our hearts are broken, our lives are shattered, and we grieve for the innocence and lives that were lost today," she said. "Above all, please pray for the families who lost children and please pray too for our family and children."

The attack bore similarities to a deadly school shooting last week in Bailey, Colorado, in which police said an older man molested girls in a classroom before killing a 16-year-old and himself. But Miller said he believed the Pennsylvania attack was not a copycat crime.

"I really believe this was about this individual and what was going on inside his head," Miller said.

BREAKING: Cong. Tom Reynolds' (R-NY) chief of staff tried to get ABC to cover-up evidence of Foley predatory sex chat
by John in DC - 10/02/2006 07:50:00 PM

It's confirmed. Congressman Tom Reynolds' (R-NY) chief of staff, Kirk Fordham, tried to broker a secret deal last Friday to get ABC News to cover up the worst part of the Foley child predator scandal, the lurid five-plus-page instant message chat in which Foley asked a child to measure his penis and then led the child into a detailed discussion of masturbatory techniques.

Howie Kurtz in the Washington Post wrote about this in this morning's Washington Post, though at the time Kurtz didn't name names - he simply referred to the deal-maker as a "former chief of staff" to Mark Foley. It's subsequently been confirmed to me, by Kurtz, that the individual who reportedly tried to broker the cover-up deal was Congressman Reynolds' own chief of staff (and former Foley chief of staff), Kirk Fordham. Here is what Kurtz wrote:
On Friday afternoon, a strategist for Rep. Mark Foley tried to cut a deal with ABC's Brian Ross.

The correspondent, who had dozens of instant messages that Foley sent to teenage House pages, had asked to interview the Florida Republican. Foley's former chief of staff said the congressman was quitting and that Ross could have that information exclusively if he agreed not to publish the raw, sexually explicit messages.

"I said we're not making any deals," Ross recalls.
(As noted above, I have confirmed that the guy offering the deal was Fordham.) Yes, God forbid Congressman Reynolds let the public know the truth. But we're to believe that he was interested in the truth when he first found out about Foley's creepy emails months ago. Right.

Congressman Reynolds, you'll recall, is the head of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), the congressional body in charge of helping House republicans get re-elected. Reynolds had been notified about Foley's page-baiting months ago, yet wants us to believe he did everything he could and that he's not responsible for the sexual predator getting an easy ride, for his being permitted to remain in congress, permitted to remain the chair of the House caucus on missing and exploited children, and being permitted to remain in the House Republican leadership.

Now we know otherwise.

Congressman Reynolds let his own chief of staff secretly work for a child predator in an effort to cover-up the worst evidence of the predator's sexual wrongdoing. Without that evidence, this case might not have broken wide open. Add Reynolds to the list, alongside Hastert and Shimkus, of members of Congress who need to resign now.

Ten Thousand Motels Bush 'disgusted' by Republican sex scandal
Oct 03 2:28 PM US/Eastern

President George W. Bush said he was "disgusted" by sexually explicit messages sent by a former Republican lawmaker to teenage congressional aides in his first comment on the growing scandal.

Bush said he supported House Speaker Dennis Hastert's call for a law enforcement probe into the e-mails and text messages sent by US Representative Mark Foley to young, male congressional pages.

"I was dismayed and shocked to learn about Congressman Foley's unacceptable behavior," Bush said during a visit at an elementary school in Stockton, California.

"I was disgusted by the revelations and disappointed that he would violate the trust of the citizens that placed him in office," he said.

Bush said the law enforcement investigation "should be thorough and any violations of law should be prosecuted."

He added that Hastert, whose handling of the matter has come under heavy criticism, "wants all the facts to come out."

"I am confident he (Hastert) will provide whatever leadership he can to law enforcement in this investigation," Bush said.
