September 25th, 2004 11:41 AM
piratekeef Are there any Talk Is Cheap / Steel Wheel's Outtakes available? Any hints?

Gazza There are no Steel Wheels outtakes in circulation, but about 80 minutes of Talk Is Cheap outtakes from Montreal in September 1987.

The quality is decent, nothing special and it's mostly lengthy, early workouts of songs

Almost Hear You Sigh - 2 takes
Locked Away
I Know What She Wanted
(My Heart Is) Breakin' - 2 takes

Voodoo Stones Not really true Gazza, you can find some Steel Wheels outtakes on the Pignose disc "The Steel Wheels Sessions" wich contain Hellhound On My Trail + some alternate versions
Except that one, no full sessions in circulation

Gazza I'm aware of those but they arent studio sessions as such, though - they're film outtakes from the demo version of "25 x 5", which included a few brief snippets of the band in Montserrat recording "Steel Wheels", plus later at Olympic Studios (I think).

The demo version of "25 x 5" features more footage from these sessions than the official version - "Hellhound" is basically a studio singalong
