3. Mick Jagger had a hugely successful first solo album?

He would have edged out Sammy Hagar for the lead singer spot in Van Halen. Then after quitting (or being fired depending on who you ask) he would have gone on to do an alone and together co-headlining tour with Elton John.

kmc you left out the obligatory "standards" lp - a la rod stewart.

or he could be a wilbury.

or maybe a "duets" album:

mick and ringo - i wanna be your man
mick and any female - why not linda ronstadt - blue bayou
mick and frank sinatra - witchcraft
mick and cat stevens - peace train
mick and michael jackson - oops, been there, done that.

Thanks Joey...as the day of atonement comes near, i shall pray for forgivenees for SS and others who have spoken harshly of us...God will ultimately have to judge these evil people and hopefully his judgment will not be as harsh as I anticipate

i'd worry about my own "fuckin around with my secretary and then pointing fingers at everybody else's ass" if i were you, joshy. your day of atonement may not be the cleansing experience you seem to think it's gonna be. of course, you can always tweak it around to your liking.....

Dan Nah, the standards album would be really sterile and generic sounding versions of the Stones songs with guest musicians. Almost like a tribute album only with Mick singing. Imagine all the other bands that would have otherwise opened for the Stones 89-03 would actually be backing Mick on Stones songs.

Speaking of Atonement , Bushie43's is but a mere six weeks away ..............................

W- W- W- W- What ?!?!?! ......Oh , sure :

As people assemble,
Civilization is trying to find a new way to die,
But killing is really merely scene changer,
All men are bored with other men's lies.

I listened and I heard music in a word,
And words when you played your guitar,
The noise that I was hearing was a million people cheering,
And a child flew past me riding in a star.

Gas on the hillside, oil in the teacup,
Watch all the chords of life lose their joy,
Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness,
The note that began all can also destroy.

We all know success when we all find our own dreams,
And our love is enough to knock down any walls,
And the future's been seen as men try to realize,
The simple secret of the note in us all.

I listened and I heard music in a word,
And words when you played your guitar,
The noise that I was hearing was a million people cheering,
And a child flew past me riding in a star ........

Make that 4 years and 6 weeks. You blew it by nominating Kerry.

Somebody did, but the Democrats made the same mistake they did in 88 or the Republicans in 96 by nominating someone who is basically unelectable. And the much vaunted and courted swing voters tend to vote based on ridiculous whims that have little to do with the actual issues and they will trend toward Bush in Ohio, Florida and Wisconsin by election day.
I dont care one or the other myself though. I hate both candidates and unlike the banshee howling from the right and left, I happen to feel this is the least important election all time (think Nixon vs Johnson or Humphrey etc)

kath no, see...he was the only one there....

it's the way it "works" here in the good ol' usa. we don't actually "elect" the president, either. as evidenced by the last time 'round.

corgi37 Some other "what-ifs".

What if they ditched Satanic, and did a blues album?

What if Mick said "Lets spend the NIGHT together" instead?

What if Ned Kelly was a smash hit?

What if they stuffed their squabbles and egos into a drawer, and agreed to close Live Aid?

What if they released ALL their tours videos on dvd?

What if they toured Undercover or Dirty Work?

What if the fuckers toured Australia in 69, 75/76, 81/82, 89/90 or 97-99?

What if the Licks tour was a flop?

What if Basil didnt fuck Eva?

Sir Stonesalot What if the Stones had all gone Tranny in '75?

If Keith had gone to jail in '77, would he have gone "bitch"?

What if Brian and Mick had become lovers?

What if Mick and Rod Stewart had become lovers?

What if Marc Anthony and Cleopatra had a submarine?

What if Jayne Mansfield hadn't lost her head?

What if the CIA really DID kill JFK?

What if the Hindus are right, and all the other religions are wrong?

What if there really is a giant asteroid the size of Texas on a collision course with the earth?

Bush Jr. will win because the Democrats are a bunch of fuckin' idiots. I mean what does it say about your party if you can't find a decent candidate to run a successful campaign against a complete retard. Why would the Dems agree to SCRIPTED debates????? All they had to do was engage in open, unscripted debate with W. Georgie can't string 2 sentences of his own together without sounding like a twit....but he sure as hell can read a prepared answer. The Dems had their chance and they fuckin' blew it. Hey Michael Moore, make a fuckin' movie about THAT.

Guess I better start looking for real estate in Jamaica.

M.O.W.A.T. What if Mick and Keith were influenced by Gregorian Chants rather than the Blues?
September 28th, 2004 02:06 AM
corgi37 What if that guy from Decca didnt knock back the Beatles?

There wouldnt be room for two "beat bands" as they were known.

The Stones would be on EMI!

And, maybe started Apple.

And, maybe Keith would have married Yoko!

Mr Hess What if Ian Stewart became a pro golfer instead of a piano player??
