I'd have to say the Marx Brothers could lay claim to that title. The Stooges' appeal may be more universal, because it is largely visual, but Minnie's boys offered a wider variety of comedic styles.

Rating: Joe Besser wasn't funny. A real bore. I hated his skits. Shemp had a few moments but no real spark. Being a Howard brother I can fogive him. But Curley stole the show. |

Exactly. You can't underrate Besser because no rating is too low. Curley was my first role model as a kid. I actually dreamed about the Stooges then.
