Topic: RJ and SOL VIDEOS? Return to archive
September 30th, 2005 10:56 PM
exile Ok, now it is getting ridiculous, I watched a bit of RAGE (Australian Music Video program) Last night and this morning. Still NO STONES music video for “Rough Justice” and/or “Streets Of Love”.

How long ago was the Singles released?
Wouldn’t they have the videos ready to release simultaneously with the singles?

Does it strike anyone as strange?

We're talking about the Stones and Virgin here, so nothing can be normal in this case.

Gazza The "Streets of Love" video was filmed in Ottawa the day after the concert there (so thats, what - 29th August)

It was shown on Vh1 Classics in the UK in a Stones special this evening. I would imagine thats the first time it has been broadcast here

exile No worries
It’s an OK video, nothing Flash!
I mean it could even be one of those Karaoke videos that play with the song. One Boy One girl Boy meets girl thing.

I mean where is the technical al wizardry that made 'Love is Strong' video and 'Like a Rolling Stone' Video.

I’m a little disappointed but, oh well, its 6 weeks late anyway.

corgi37 Wow, SOL is an amazingly lame clip.
October 1st, 2005 11:56 AM
egon i just downloaded another SOL video from emule.
in this one they are just on a stage without an audience.
i'm gonna try & get a link here somehow..
October 1st, 2005 12:16 PM
egon presto;

http://s47.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3FP8O72G68AOE1SCGJTVPZDL8P

as said before, it's a complete different version,
i think taped from a german tv show.

if the link doesn't work anymore
(it only allows a limited amount of downloads),
and you still want it then pm me.

jpenn11 Was this really on a German TV show? Wood's acoustic turned into an electric very quickly.

One thing missing though is the droll look on Charlie's face that one usually sees in these "just us on the stage" videos.

exile Compared to the technical wizardry that made 'Love is Strong' video and 'Like a Rolling Stone' Video.

Both videos were lame.
Nice to see Darryl in there though (in the second one) I liked that.

And Wow Ronnie’s got a magic guitar that turns magically from acoustic to electric. Where can I get me self one of dem

Jagger’s 'God Gave me Everything I Want' video is a lot better in my humble opinion.

yes, i'm pretty sure "Sat 3" is german.
the stones weren't actually on the prgram i think,
it seems to be a 'real' music video.

yes. I taped it and the Stones special

padre I think the SOL video was good and simple. All those technical gimmicks get easily dated (like the fantastic microwave picture on Emotional Rescue!). Somehow the perfomance reminded me of the -71 "farewell" clubgig they did in England. I'm quite sure the director had that in mind when he did the band's part of the vid.
Btw, it was on news last week that a Finnish director Antti Jokinen might be doing the next promo clip for the Stones! It's not confirmed yet, but it could be possible. Hail Finland!

Soldatti Both videos are the same, they're doing the Black and Blue type of videos again but 30 years later.
