If you really want to be my friend
Let me live it up like I used to do
If you really want to understand me
There's some giving up we got to do
I know ev'rybody wants to be your man
I don't want to tie you up, go ahead, you're free
And I never want to scar you with my brand
We could live it up, just a you and me
If you really want to understand a man
Let him off the lead sometimes, set him free
If you really, really want to be my friend
Give me the look of love, not jealousy
I know you think that life is a thriller
You play the vamp, I play the killer
Now baby, what's the use of fighting?
By the last reel we'll be cryin' cryin', cryin
If you really want to be my man
Get your nails out of my back
Stop using me
You know I really, really want to be your friend
But just a little faith is all we need
I don't want no dog eat dog world for you and me
Get your nails out, stop bleeding me
You know, people tell me you are a vulture
Say you're a sore in a cancer culture
Ay, but you got a little charm around you
I'll be there when they finally hound you
Hound you, hound you
If you really want to be my friend
And I really want to understand you baby
If you really want to be my friend
If you really want to understand me
I really want to be your man
I want to try to give you a helping hand
I really want to be your friend
I want to push you when you're up
And pull you when you're down
If you really want you to understand me
I'll tell you something, that love can't thrive on jealousy
I really want to understand you
I really want to be your man
'Cause understanding is something ev'rybody needs
I really want to be your friend
And I love you, love you, yes, I do

Hello, P-Dog
I'm guessing your busting my chops, not sure. Since you and I haven't talked directly in a while I'll just say I appreciated your MSG stories, although your efforts to get pavlov's dog muzzled elsewhere made me sad. Posting these lyrics has been a test of Pavlov's Broadcast System, this was only a test. In the event of a real post, requiring lyrics to make a point I would have included relevant textual material to flesh out a thesis. Since you pee on more than one fire hydrant I'm wondering where else the scent of this post will travel...
I don't know of a link to a full audio file of thid GHS classic but I'll burn you a disc if you want.
'Cause understanding is something ev'rybody needs
I really want to be your friend

If you mean the parts that go:
I know you think that life is a thriller
You play the vamp, I play the killer
Now baby, what's the use of fighting?
By the last reel we'll be cryin' cryin', cryin
AND ALSO
You know, people tell me you are a vulture
Say you're a sore in a cancer culture
Ay, but you got a little charm around you
I'll be there when they finally hound you
Hound you, hound you
Those are my favorite parts!!! So campy, so wurlitzer organ at the silent cinnema melodrama.
I'm insisting that my wife play this song at my funeral along with 2 other Stones tunes:
Memory Hotel

IORR has its moments, but it's not all that. Not a bad record to listen to when you're stoned outta your mind and either can't or don't want to get up off the couch - much like the Stones were when they recorded it. |

WINTER!!
Another awesome song!
The whole Goat's Heat/ IORR/ B n' B era is a gestalt thing. You either get it or you don't. Mick was absolutley toying with his fans and the layers upon layers of cynicism, irony and conceit make for a complex bouquet, with a sharp nose, a quirky gurgle and an oh, so satisying funish.
aaahhhh!
It's Only Goat's Head Soup but I like it, love it, yes I do |

What, do you miss me Starbuck?
You've been whining elsewhere that I seem to have a thing for you. Are you sure it's not the other way around?
I've been mainly playing in this sandbox and I guess you must miss me and are bored. What Steel Wheels and Dano have nothing interesting to say?
Yeah, POW you got me! I screwed up and said the song was from GHS. I'm guessing someone as brilliant as you never makes a mistake. Oh, well, Moonisup already pointed out my error. I thanked him and have already said:

but feel free to keep stirring the pot:
Gotta get into a fight
Can't get out of it

they don't know you like i know you buddy!
after you've posted lyrics to songs we all already know the 128th time, the webmaster has asked you to stop a million times, you demand to be accepted into the family and respected as a board elder after posting for only a week, you start posting at shidoobee saying "rocks off sucks", and you start stalking other regulars, they won't be so lovey dovey.
