RollingstonesUSA What band or solo artist do you listen to, that you wouldn't really tell someone....lol

Don't ask me why, Scissor Sisters, I have no reason why,lol
24th September 2006 08:51 PM
glencar Babs Streisand!
24th September 2006 08:51 PM
Mel Belli Well, I was at the Virgin Festival in Baltimore yesterday - the first American staging of the UK V-Fest - and Scissor Sisters were there. I missed them. I saw the Killers, though, and liking them was rather guilty-making. Jack White's Raconteurs were cool; so was that pop-rap duo Gnarls Barkley.

I thought Clap Your Hands Say Yeah was awful.

The Who, of course, kicked butt.

No complaints at all:

Can't Explain
The Seeker
Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere
Who Are You
Behind Blue Eyes
Baba
Mike Post Theme (and I think one other new one)
Eminence Front
You Better You Bet
My Generation
Won't Get Fooled
Substitute
Pinball Wizard (part of a mini-"Tommy" finale, ended with "See Me, Feel Me" sequence)

Mel Belli They won't let you down. Daltrey's voice is a little shot, but Pete can still play, and there's solid backup support (their longtime keyboardist, plus another guitarist). And Zak Starkey is damn competent.

MrPleasant (At some hotel in the U.S., circa 1970.)

JACK PALANCE: Are you from Germany?
RAINER WERNER FASSBINDER: Yes, from Baviera.

(A very long silence)

PALANCE: East or West?

(More silence)

FASSBINDER: West, but very close to the East... (Long silence)... Is your family from Russia?

PALANCE: No, from Kiev... A drink?

FASSBINDER: Vodka?
PALANCE: Whisky.

(Another unbearable silence)

FASBINDER: I like a "cuba libre".
PALANCE: What's that?
FASSBINDER: Fidel Castro.
PALANCE: Shitty communist!
FASSBINDER: No, ron and coca cola.
PALANCE: Do you drink that shit?

(More silence)
FASSBINDER: Yeah, a lot.
PALANCE: When there's no whisky, I drink a lot of vodka.

(Silence)

FASSBINDER: Ok.

"This conversation lasted an hour", recalls Peter Berling. "I know because then the girls came in and they were very drunk. We got togheter and they said goodbye".

FASSBINDER: Nice to meet you, mr. Palance. "Very few times he would pronounce such a long line, in english".
PALANCE: Nice to meet you too. What do you do?
FASSBINDER: I make movies.
PALANCE: I understand. Well, have fun.

TampabayStone More like guilty viewing, but that Flavor of Love show is pure genius. I was torn about posting this here or starting a separate appretiation thread. NY, Crazy and Delicious are the last girls standing. Flava Flav!!
