Distance and access-wise, one is as convenient as the other. Which airport youre flying into isnt really that significant

Glad youve decided to go. 400 Euro isnt too bad.

Where are you flying from? Marseille?

egon again; thanks!

I'm almost more excited about this than my holiday to australia in november. i wonder why?

mrseille yes.

i've got a few options basis 18-22 january;

airfrance (via paris) or klm (via amsterdam)at 430
lufthansa (via germany) at 420
alitalia (via rome) at 365

but just now see NWA (via amsterdam) at 315.
times are shitty though.

I'm gonna check a bit more over the next few days, as i'm sure 300eur should be do-able.

Any tips are welcome btw.

egon i am actualy searching for tickets with sweaty hands.
and to think i booked australia at 1100 euros within 2 minutes

Gazza Egon

I just checked www.opodo.fr for you and you can do Marseille - JFK via Paris for Eur409

Early departure from Marseille, but if you cant get a direct flight, then its the only way youre going to be able to leave France on the 18th and arrive in new York in good time for the concert that night (assuming youre going to try and get to that show as well)

We need to call a good Restaurant and book a room for 30 to 50!
September 21st, 2005 05:18 PM
nankerphelge Wow am I psyched that my drinking buddy egon is coming to NYC!

As Gazza said Newark vs JFK is about the same -- JFK might be a bit closer, but if Newark is cheaper, grab it!

hotels -- you can't miss -- I use Orbitz -- it finds pretty good deals.

I'm with Pdog -- we need a quality watering hole with good food and drink that can house us loonies!

I've found a decent itinerary on Expedia... Not sure if i'm going to try to pull off another sleepless in nYC. I may come in early, considering being there for the 1st show, even ticketless, now it doesn't matter!
Really good deals. I'm going to try Orbitz too...
September 21st, 2005 05:34 PM
nankerphelge Tavern on the Green and the Rainbow are a bit too much.

We need working class -- remember, we are wearing tongues!!!

September 21st, 2005 05:36 PM
LadyJane Will ya agree to Chiba Carriage rides through Central Park?????????

Flight will be easy and cheap to book. Non stops roundtrips from SFO to JFK omly run about $250.00 total..
September 21st, 2005 06:44 PM
nankerphelge There is a doubletree suites in Times Sq -- they can hold a load of people if'n a bunch of yas want to share the expense.

September 21st, 2005 07:36 PM
nankerphelge The Marriott Marquis in Times Sq. has one of them fancy spindletop restaurants and bar that overlooks the Sq -- they might be able to work a little something up for us mutants!!

Still seems a bit hoity-toity for the likes of us. How about Show World? Oh, that was the OLD Times Square...before Guilliani sold it to Disney.

Well, no matter where we congregate, this is going to be THE summit...the one we all talk about for the rest of our lives.

Maybe we'll get snowed in!

September 21st, 2005 08:26 PM
Gazza just a suggestion

try and arrange somewhere relatively near the venue

Walking 20 blocks or more in the snow while half drunk in a rush to get to the Garden before your bladder bursts isnt a great idea.

The 'commuting' time will greatly eat into the time you have to party.
September 21st, 2005 10:07 PM
TomL Gary- That's what cabs are for. It's only 8 bucks or so to the Garden. Partydollmeg glad you got in. Yea do times square I am staying 2 blocks away. Comfort Inn has rooms for 135. But I will say id you are gonna do something do it now. It will only get harder and more costly. Go LJ Go.....................You want busy...you got it.
