Dirty Work is a better record. Take away the awful 80's production, and there is some decent songwriting there. As Keith said, a lot of those songs were made to be played live in stadiums. It is a shame that we never got to hear a song like "Winning Ugly" in concert. Especially after they had some time to work out the kinks. Even with the strife between Mick and Keith back then, those guys were so damn talented that they "phoned in" a good record.
What happened on "A Bigger Bang?" I guarantee that in 2 years, no one will be able to remember the names of 1/2 these songs. In fact, with the 8 year layoff, and the fact that Mick and Keith got back to writing songs face-to-face, I think "A Bigger Bang" is the most disappointing album The Stones have ever released.
After a long makeout session, my mom and I were discussing where the worst place on earth would be to spend a night out in the street. It came down to Rwanda or Kingston, Jamaica. We both decided that inner-city Kingston, Jamaica is hell on earth.

all rock harder than anything on Bang
Sleep Tonite is a gorgeous, underated Stones song. I still get chills listening to it.
meanwhile, theres about 8 songs on Bang that are in a death match, Battle Royal from hell with Back To Zero & Winning Ugly to declare who is the true undisputed champion of horrendous Stones songs.
advantage: Dirty Work |

"Winning Ugly" is not a bad song. It has a good melody, even if the words are cheesy. It had potential. I think it is actually my favorite song on Dirty Work. That whole "I will not act unkind, I will not be so blind" part is catchy, and the part where Mick sings "Heading for a heartbreak, I'm heading for the blues" is quite enjoyable.
"Back to Zero" has that good middle part to it,(My whole life is hangin' on a thread..) even though the chorus is awful.
They are both better songs than "Streets of Love," "Look What the Cat Dragged In," "Driving Too Fast," etc...
My friend and I once had this contest about who could send the most disgusting thing through the US Mail. One day, I received an envelope full of toenails and fingernails that he had bitten or picked off. In response, I took this girl's virginity while a sophomore in college, and send him the bloody condom.
I won.

Well that's funny that you would compare the 2 CD's cause I recently made a CD mix containing the following songs:
1. Oh No Not You Again
2. Look What The Cat Dragged In
3. Had It With You
4. Break The Spell
5. The Storm
6. Back Of My Hand
7. Fancyman Blues
8. Black Limousine
9. Rough Justice
10. Dirty Work
11. Too Tough
12. Love Is Strong
13. It Won’t Take Long
14. Rain Fall Down
15. Saint Of Me
16. Thief In The Night
17. How Can I Stop
18. Don’t Stop (new rock mix)
19. Infamy
Of course it's titled "Rough Justice". The b-sides flowed right along side Back of My Hand as well as the Dirty Work tracks...to each his own, I feel "Bang" is a strong album from the boys at this stage in the game. I never understood why folks can't seem to accept what an artist is giving them. Whether or not you agree with Mick playing guitar as much or singing a ballad, this is what that musician is made of at the time as a person gifted with the talent of musicianship. If you dig what they have done in the past, try and accept what they give you today in this day and age and cherish it for all it's worth. |

A Bigger Bang is one of the great records of their career. It's focused, driven, and full of hooks, grooves, and fun moments.
Funny moments too. It's the sound of a band having fun being together, and thank God for that. |

Well,im allready bored to listen ABB.Its adult music.I´m not that grown up yet, never will be.Its just a good album.
Nothing more.
Dirty work has better song writing,so does undercover.
And on voodoo and BTB.
But tour is FAR better than boring licks tour, even they did
theatre gigs, but set list with rarities doesn´t mean, that we get a good show.
I wonder,if they wrote ABB together, like they say they did.
they used to make albums with the BAND,not just 2 of the guys, really.Just listen voodoo outtakes, theres all 4 rehearsing songs, and don´t say that charlie had cancer, they
could have waited,right?
ABB is a boring soon forgotten album. |

any top ten list that does not include jb, gazza, luxury, throbby, myself, and even Maxy (sorry josh!) is just a collection of random names.
I also see that the kings are not listed either???? Corgi??? Glencar???? these are the true legends that make RO what it is......conspicuous by his absence is Baby Steelie...
I am sure I have forgotten some more legends, and I apologize...My post will be brief as I am still under suspension.
With regards to this "boxing match" Please allow it to serve as the undercard to a upcoming Voodoo Pugs Show. If we can somehow get it put in the Eight Sides of Steel UFC octagon....they The VP's will volunteer to be the opening act, as we do not want any of our equipment damaged in the brawl.

Yes I shall add Raffy to my list of cheaters. Barry Bonds should be banned from baseball. Have you ever compared his pics from the early 90s to now? This guy is a criminal. How much money has he made under false pretenses? And now he's going to pass the Babe? This is, perhaps, the biggest of Baseball's many shames.

I read in the paper that Barry wants to lose 25lbs this offseason to lower the stress on his knees.....he should turn to his collegues. Mark McGwire, Ivan Rodriguez, Sammy Sosa, and Brady Anderson have all lost significant weight recently....they must have a fantastic dietician.
