Topic: Bill Wyman Reviews "A Bigger Bang" Return to archive
September 22nd, 2005 12:24 PM
jcdesq From the desk of Bill Wyman:

A Bigger Bang is just not that good of an album. I think it is tied with Voodoo Lounge and Bridges to Babylon as the worst ever. Why? Because I'm not on it you fools! What songs will stand the test of time? Nothing! Most of the songs that we recorded when I was in the band are classics! I don't think there is one memorable song on this record. "Oh No, Not You Again" is a decent rocker, but not even close to the great "In Another Land." Songs like "Look What the Cat Dragged In," "Dangerous Beauty" and "Sweet Neo-Con" are awful! I don't know if "Sweet Neo-Con" even qualifies as a song! The band sucks since I left. Go out and buy a Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings CD. I bet your local Tower Records still has a box or two in the back. The store manager may be using them as a foot-stool or as a makeshift door-stop, but they are still available.

For his birthday, I am going to give him an autographed copy of "Monkey Grip."

-Bill

Nellcote C'mon jdesq, is this type of flooding of a reputable Stones board really needed?
September 22nd, 2005 01:24 PM
jcdesq What does "flooding" mean? Personally, I think it is insensitive to use such a word given the current situation in the Gulf region. You should know better.

Though, Nellcote, I think you have one of the best names on this message board, and respect you for it, I do not think there is anything wrong with a true Stones fan expressing his dissatisfaction with the high ticket prices, lack of intimate venues, tired setlists, rampant commercialism, and mediocre new music we are getting with this album and tour.

I merely express these opinions in a more creative way. It is clear some people don't like it, but some people do and get a kick out of it. I am not trying to damage the integrity of this board, I just did not drink the Kool-Aid. I have problems with the Stones out-pricing their core fans and selling out to every corporation that comes their way. I am limited in the sense that I have terrible mental problems and can only write crazy things, but you should not condemn me for it. Now excuse me, I have eaten too much acidophilus, and my bowel movements have become just too large. Last time I wiped myself, all that came out on the toilet paper was blood.

Gazza Fictional or not, posting remarks making fun of retarded children is as funny as cot-death and almost certainly deeply offensive to anyone reading it who may have to deal with bringing up handicapped children of their own

Knock it off.
