SG...I now look very forward to your "album of the weekend" choices. Great idea!!
Beggar's is in my top five, which vary in order depending on my mood.
Time to give it a listen.

Nasty Habits |
For the album of the weekend I whipped out my Decca Mono LP of Beggar's Banquet. What an unbelievably great intensely rhythmic barnburning mofo of a record. Sympathy is particularly interesting on the mono in that Jagger's vocals at the beginning don't have any reverb and the outro is actually extended for several seconds. His vocals are more audible on Street Fighting Man and the guitars on Stray Cat are even raunchier. But best of all is Prodigal Son -- Charlie's kick becomes a thing of wonder. Bill Wyman deniers are directed towards Jigsaw Puzzle. Show me a Stones record since his departure that has bass half that exciting or interesting. I was shudderin' and shakin' the whole time it was playin'. Wow.
