The Stones are still the biggest rock band as far as touring goes but I would like to see them have a real big single to launch the new record.
Bridges to Babylon sold pretty well but did not have a huge single.
I think a really rocking dance track like Undercover would do the trick or a pop ballad along the lines of an Aerosmith tune.
Yeah, I know alot of those Aerosmith ballads really suck but they do get played on the radio.
Radio simply doesn't play blues rock anymore and I think that is why Mick is having people like Wycleaf and Missy Elliot on his next solo record. |

The VOODOO Chile shoots and scores! Yeah, UNDERCOVER, that great mix of Stonesfunky bass and that slashing, machine-gun style riffing by Keith and some of Ronnie's best leadwork.... That's EXACTLY the kinda thing that'd be great for Darryl Jones... and while we're at it, maybe some Jagger funk/"Shattered" style po' boy blues jive, ala "Fingerprint File".... "These days, it's all secrecy, an' no priivacy..." So a "Some Girls/"EmotionalRescue"/ type of funk, with the molten intensity of "Undercover"/"She Was Hot"/"Jump on Top of Me", mixed with the gotta-get-that-soul "thang" of Bobby Keys ala "Live With Me"/"Brown Sugar"/"Can't You Hear Me Knockin'", with just a shade of "Sympathy For The Devil"/"Midnight Rambler" sense of danger thrown in for good measure. And since that Latin thing's still goin' well, bring back those bongos from "Sympathy." Get Keith back to raunchy riffin', and Jack Flash back to his ol' alley cat squallin', and gentlemen, we'll have another "Start Me Up" barnburner and another chapter in the Stones's unparallelled legacy. Sparks will fly, the Stones'll reign supreme, and all will feel right in the universe once more. Rock Onnnnnnn...... Vacendak
