"Timeless" Music of Hank Williams in Stores Sept. 25 on Lost Highway Records

Featuring Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Keb' Mo', Hank Williams III, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris,
Tom Petty, Beck, Sheryl Crow, Lucinda Williams, Mark Knopfler and Ryan Adams

Lost Highway Records is proud to bring you the very special album, "Timeless," a collection of
songs popularized by the late Hank Williams as reinterpreted by an ensemble of seminal artists
which includes Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Tom Petty, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, Ryan
Adams, Keb' Mo', Keith Richards, Mark Knopfler, Johnny Cash, Beck, Emmylou Harris, and Hank
Williams III. With superb performances from each, all of the artists on "Timeless" have made
Hank Williams' familiar songs their own. This album will be released Sept. 25, 2001, coincidentally
just a few days from what would have been Hank's 78th birthday.

Almost 50 years since he passed away in the back seat of his Cadillac, Hank Williams remains a
cultural and musical icon. Hank died at the age of 29, but the legacy of the singer/songwriter
has made a permanent mark on American music. His intimate and darkly emotional lyrics, paired
with melodies that combine blues, southern gospel and traditional mountain folk music, remain
just as potent today as when they were first heard. Hank Williams was the first superstar of his
genre, the innovator who helped "hillbilly" music cross over to a mainstream audience.

As described by Lost Highway president Luke Lewis to USA Today, "Hank described himself as a
folk and blues artist. Emmylou (Harris) did a folk version of `Alone and Forsaken.' Beck's `Your
Cheatin' Heart' doesn't sound anything (like) the original ... (The artists) treated it with respect.
I don't think Hank would've minded at all."
