oh, and by the way: the guitar Keith plays here is a Gibson ES-335, while the semi-acoustic he's playing since 1997 is a Gibson ES-355, a quite different instrument allthough the shape is simular.

That shot is, I'm almost certain, from the guest spot Nick Lowe talks about on his website. Keith was totally out of it. So bad they took his guitar away or something. Anyone have that link again? That is a great story. |

'Sup, Loog?
Got the tasty tasty package in the mail yesterday!
How have I gone so long in my life having never heard the insane mid-80s hilarity that is "Invitation"? Somebody shoulda stuck that one on the B-side of the "Winning Ugly" 12" or something! Fabulous!

Nasty!
Brother!
I'm so glad you got the Dirty Work outtakes. Sorry I was so late.
Invitation is pure joy, is it not?
I love Goin' to Memphis too.
Great stuff from a great band at their greatest moment (1986).
Did you get the other thing in their too? |
|
Nasty Habits |
Yes sir, I did, sir.
You are a truly supportive brother and I am priveleged to know you!
Hey, have you checked out that new Lester Bangs book that's on the shelves these days?
Three Creem articles worth of full fledged mid-70s Stones identity crisis.
He frets!
He stews!
He loves!
He hates!
Reads like a dream!
|
|
Maxlugar |
No I did not know there was a Bangs book out.
He's my favorite Rock writter of all time!
I will get it.
What's called, O Ye of suprising information?
MACKY! |

I would like to gently bite the nape of your neck while hissing passionately through my teeth "Gypsy....Gypsy...."
Fade to black.

I like skinny Keith better than balding grandpa Keith. |

The Lester book is entitled: Main Lines, Blood Feasts, and Bad Taste: A Lester Bangs Reader
It features wonderfulness about Sid Vicious's death, a great interview with Captain Beefheart, much handwringing about Miles Davis and the Stones, and other suchlike Lesterisms of extreme moral and alcoholic content. A must read, and more fun than Psychotic Reactions and Carbeurator Dung.
