CS Ozzy is greatest hell-raiser - poll

Bat-chomping Ozzy Osbourne has shown he can still teach modern musical wildmen a thing or two by topping a poll to find rock's greatest hell-raiser.

The former Black Sabbath star - famed for years of drink and drugs oblivion - and fellow wrinkly rocker Mick Jagger are way ahead of contemporary stars.

Osbourne, now enjoying a new lease of life as the star of a hit MTV fly-on- the-wall series, was named by nearly a third of those polled by internet firm blueyonder as the greatest rock hell-raiser ever.

He took 31% of the votes, while notorious ladies' man and Rolling Stone Sir Mick managed 17%.

The late Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols, a heroin addict who killed his girlfriend Nancy Spungen, is third.

Reformed binger Robbie Williams is the highest placed current star in fourth place.

Rod Stewart - whose former wife Rachel Hunter is now dating Robbie - is a place behind. And Liam Gallagher, 30, the recently engaged Oasis frontman, is in seventh place.

Chad Raube of Telewest Broadband - whose high speed internet arm is blueyonder - said: "Despite what they may think, the stars of today really can't compete with our ageing rock legends."

The survey found Sir Cliff Richard was judged to be the most clean-cut dullest man in pop.
