The White Stripes have canceled the remainder of their US tour because drummer Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel, according to the band.
"We hate to let people down and are very sorry," the duo said in a statement on their website.

Eighteen dates across the US, including Alaska and Hawaii, have been shelved and there's no word yet as to whether they will be rescheduled. At the moment, The White Stripes' October/November tour of the UK is still on.

September 24 - Anchorage AL (William A. Egan Civic Center)
September 26 - Seattle WA (Paramount Ballroom)
September 27 - Seattle WA (Paramount Ballroom)
September 28 - Boise ID (Idaho Center Theatre)
September 29 - Salt Lake City UT (E Center)
September 30 - Jackson Hole WY (Snow King Center)
October 2 - Rapid City SD (Rushmore Plaza)
October 3 - Fargo ND (Civic Auditorium)
October 4 - Lincoln NE (Pershing Auditorium)
October 6 - Chicago IL (Aragon Ballroom)

pdog I hate the greek theater in berkeley... so I wasn't going to go anyway. Hope Meg feels better. I've actually had very intense anxiety, it was paralyzing fear...

Nowadays tickets are so much easier to get ahold of it so I don't really feel it anymore.

Martha Many prayers going out to Meg. I suffer from anxiety and depression and anxiety is far worse. I experience at times 2-3 days non-stop anxiety which feels similar to having taken a black beauty......but not fun at all. It grinds me into the ground. I've been taking an herbal remedy (Motherwort tincture) for it and have noticed a major improvement. I hope Jack isn't working her nerves. There's a remedy for that though if he is. ;-)
