Nelson Goes Live With "Stars"

Keith Richards, Ryan Adams featured on new album

Willie Nelson will release Willie Nelson and Friends: Stars and Guitars, a live album recorded at an April 14th tribute to the Red Headed Stranger, on November 5th on Lost Highway.
The seventeen-track album includes a number of collaborations from the show (which was broadcast on the USA Network on May 31st), including a Lost Highwaymen gathering between Nelson, Keith Richards, Ryan Adams and Hank Williams III, who ran through the Rolling Stones' "Dead Flowers." Among the other songs making the cut are Nelson and Adams' take on Jimmy Cliff's "The Harder They Come," and a cover of Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth," with Sheryl Crow.

Also included is a cross section of songs either penned or popularized by Nelson, including "On the Road Again," "Good Hearted Woman" (with Toby Keith), "Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain" (with Vince Gill), and "Stardust" (with Aaron Neville). Rob Thomas, Brian McKnight and Lee Ann Womack each contribute vocals to songs they recorded with Nelson for this year's The Great Divide.
