Nellcote This is it for me, classic Stones sound from the era...
Great Album choice Some Guy...

PLAY IT LOUD!

Flight 505 (Jagger/Richards)

Well, I was happy here at home
I got everything I need
Happy bein' on my own
just living the life I lead

Well, suddenly it dawned on me
that this was not my life
So I just phoned the airline girl
and said "Get me on flight number 505,
get me on flight number 505"

Well, I confirmed my reservation
Then I hopped a cab
No idea of my destination
and feeling pretty bad

With my suitcase in my hand
In my head, my new life
So then I told the airline girl
"Well, get me on flight number 505,
get me on flight number 505"
Alright

Well, I sat right there in my seat
Well, feeling like a king
With the whole world right at my feet
"Of course I'll have a drink"

Well, suddenly I saw
that we never ever would arrive
He put the plane down in the sea
The end of flight number 505
The end of flight number 505
Alright

Whew, they put the plane down in the sea
The end of flight number 505
The end of flight number 505

Nasty Habits The FIRST Stones vinyl LP I ever bought, and in fact the first vinyl LP I ever bought, thereby starting my current self define shakey little career. Superkillergreatwonderful record. I shall forever prefer the tighter US version whilst lamenting the absence of Mother's Little Helper thereupon.

Like a lady in waiting to a virgin queen!

Hello Katie ................

To answer your question , the UK version has a lot of stuff that was later found on Flowers ( U.S. Version ) . It will take me awhile but I do plan on providing you with a set list .

I thank you for your time today

Jacky !

glencar Damn rip-off boy!
September 10th, 2004 07:47 PM
Soldatti The UK version is the second best Stones' album of the 60's, second only to Let It Bleed.
September 10th, 2004 09:22 PM
kath let it bleed is the greatest rock and roll album of all time
September 10th, 2004 09:33 PM
LadyJane 12 hours after my first post, I'm finally getting into the Aftermath groove. Nice.

parmeda There's a parade that will be going right past my house tommorrow afternoon. I am very pissed off at the code enforcers in my town right now...they had the balls to leave me a citation to make sure that my driveway is "free & accessable" during the parade route.

My driveway will be 'car-less' tommorrow (assholes).
Oh, I plan to drown out the marching bands.
AFTERMATH will be my mayor's theme song...
September 11th, 2004 12:22 PM
glencar Citation as in a fine? Or just a warning? In any case, blast it baby!
September 11th, 2004 12:31 PM
nankerphelge Initial Aftermath observations:

They should play I Am Waiting next tour.
That buildup is great -- especially with hydrocodone.

That slide on Doncha Bother Me is so hill-billy.
And speaking of hil-billy, High & Dry is one of the greatest Stones songs to sing along to -- love that harmonica.
She's lucky that I didn't have any luck to-wards her!

Now returning to your regular programming...

Soldatti Amazing record...
September 11th, 2004 10:40 PM
Mr Hess One of the top 5 Stones albums ever!!
I heard the rehearsed 'Flight 505' for the Licks tour.
I woulda plotzed then and there if they actually played it at one of the shows!!
September 12th, 2004 09:28 AM
Bob Tamp HIGH AND DRY is my favorite from Aftermath. That would sound so grungy if played on the next tour. The band needs to take more risks with their live shows.
September 12th, 2004 12:55 PM
glencar I played the UK version on my drive to & from work last night. Other than the placement of "Going Home" in the middle, it plays much better than the American version.
