I have seen everyone on this list. Multiple times. I tried to keep my list limited to basic rock and roll or else it would have included Faith No More, Mr Bungle, Peeping Tom, Rammstein, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and The Mentors. |

Yes....the Jimi Hendrix Experience....the song Voodoo Chile alone should put at at least #2. Even #1....but the Rolling Stones take up all that available space. |

I think that list is about right considering the source and the actual fact that they were clearly talking about the bands that had the most influence. Anyone here that denies that the Beatles were more influential in their affect on mass appeal than any band in history is deluding themselves.
While we may like the Stones more, and consider the Beatles to be more of a pop band than a rock band that point is moot. In the arena of public opinion the Beatles were, and are,a rock band. As Stones fans we are merely arguing semantics. The Beatles did much more for the rock and roll genre than any other band period. That's just an historical fact.
Now if I were a Zep fan I'd be pissed! LOL!

Beatles were a very overrated boy band that wrote songs to appeal to the masses. Off course they will alwasy be more popular as the media has poisioned generation after generation with there propaganda, while downplaying what the Stones did for rock music. The Beatles are no better then any other pop phenom, like Madonna. They were not all that talented as musicans either...Paul sucks as a bass player, Lennon a terrible guitarist, Ringo the worst of all the big band drummers, and George very effiminate and weak on the guitar. No real Stones fan will ever accept these fakers. The Beatles are dead, and I only wish their music would die as well. |
