Soldatti I bet less than 60-70%.

I made a few calls, and I had two people tell me about 70% are sold and one told me 75% are sold.....I don't know if this is percentage of those offered for sale, or if this omits tickets held back though.

Nellcote What in tarnation is all the fuss?
If you do not want to go, well, then don't.
Those that want to go, will pay where they
want to sit, and, I suppose, enjoy it.
If you do not like the $22.50 prices, it's a free country, pay more!
But, please.
So they are not selling out the place.
Be thankful they are even still touring.
This constant palaber about "papering, $22.50 tickets, we must win gross", is really sad & tiring.
Simply put, enjoy it for what it is...The Stones still touring after all these years.
If you can't handle that, don't go.
Oh, there are plently of parking lots not at the stadium, which will charge less, you just have to walk a bit.

mrhipfl I agree with Nellcote.

Enjoy my friend..I know you are a little disturbed with me, but I trust we are still friends.
9th September 2006 12:42 PM
Nellcote I am not ever disturbed with you, frankly, I just think you need a better focus with this.
There are far more important things to be disturbed about.
Can you say Culpepper?

A very disappointing start. Between UM, Phins, and ticket sales, if I were a lesser man, I might retreat into oblivion.
9th September 2006 12:50 PM
Nellcote This is true.
You must soldier forward.
I think of George C Scott's portrayal of Patton in such trying moments.

throbby All I know is that I will be standing in one of those seats in a mere 11 days. Can't wait, don't care who goes, don't care who's upset with the sales. The Stones may not sell like they once did, but they can rock a stadium like no one else ever has. I say good for those who waited and picked up some 22 dollar seats. They're in for a hell of a show.

touche`

and btw i will be dead center row 12 a3 enjoying my $352 seats... although this is it for me this go round.

Emotional post Throbby.......let me know if you want my room. It is the Presidential suite at $2000k a night. I will have it tranfered in your name if your interested(with the $22.50 tickets, you can justify the higher priced room). Regards, your pal, JB.

throbby Thanks for the offer JB! I'll pass on the Four Seasons though. Felt too much like a groupie doing that last fall.

Unfortunately I can never wait to purchase tickets so I missed out on the 22.00 special. Not that I would have bought one, a good price but not what I would consider an ideal location. Something about being in the opposite endzone I guess. My binocular days are over. The view, will however, be quite fine from my vantage point.

I've come to terms with what the Stones have become. Not enough time these days to worry about what they once were.

PLEASE ENJOY THE FESTIVITIES IN THE PARKING LOT, AND SAY HELLO TO NELLCOTE, AND MY FRIEND MYLES, WHO WILL BE SERVING LOBSTER CHOWDER AT THE SHIDOOBEE GATHERING. GOLD RINGS ON YA. SEE YA IN LOUISVILLE/AC.

Bitch For $22.50 I would def go, but it's a weeknight. If the show was on the weekend I'm sure it would have sold alot more tickets, but for people with kids in school and jobs, the mid-week travelling is impossible. I dont think it was a good idea to plan the opening night on a Wednesday.

we should only play on Friday Saturday nights or part of a recurring Vegas show (See: Barry Maniow). Also, we should play outdoor/shed type auditoriums using a house stage to minimize costs and make up for lost revenue from subpar sales

Monkeytonk-man I can't understand why people are getting all twisted up about cheap seats, from my perspective, this is great news.

Perhaps it's my socialist values coming to the fore, but why do some people begrudge punters getting to see a rock concert, and not having to spend an arm and a leg, surely this is good news.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain how people who buy the most expensive tickets available are better fans than those who shell out for cheaper tickets.
I'm intrigued.

While this does not apply to everyone...I would suggest this covers about 86-91% of the fans. Good post!

Thank you...generally speaking, the more one pays, the more one cares. Off course, there are some people who care, but can't pay .
11th September 2006 11:12 AM
Monkeytonk-man I don’t necessarily agree with the view that financial outlay directly correlates with the amount with which you care about a band.

Is it because those that pay more can display sycophantic behaviour, enjoying it more because they are simply physically closer to those which they idolise?
The more you pay, the closer you get, the more you care.

If someone is extremely financially secure, and can afford two tickets for £150 and not consider it a strain upon their resources, considered to be more of a fan than perhaps an individual that has to save up and purchase a cheaper ticket, but places greater intrinsic value / not fiscal value upon their purchase?

I often feel upset when some wanker , who paid 10 quid, cuts in front of me at the show.....I have forcefuuly removed people like that, as they have attempted to diminish the fact that I have paid, well, sometimes over 10,000 quid for a single seat.

Jumping Jack For $22.50 you can even afford to open the mini bar in the Presidential suite!!!
