steel driving hammer Micks voice was prime until he flew to Toronto then flew right back.

Those long trips are really not good for your body, trust me.
08-27-03 06:12 PM
duijf Im hearing Brown Sugar
08-27-03 06:14 PM
sandrew I heard from inside the band that Mick lost his voice the night of the first Amsterdam show - because he felt the need to push his voice extra hard in light of an absent Ronnie and very drunk/stoned Keith.

The same source says they were in an Amsterdam studio recording on Aug. 18.

That bit of news could salve the wound of no Mick Taylor tonight.
08-27-03 06:15 PM
stonesstein What's the complete list so far?
08-27-03 06:18 PM
duijf Satisfaction is now being played

based on the text messages the setlist reads:

Jumping Jack Flash
LIve With Me
Hand of Fate
No Expectations,
Worried About You
Heart Breaker
Its Only Rock and Roll
Aint too Proud to Beg
Can't Turn you Loose
Honkey Tonk Women
Start Me Up
Brown Sugar
Satisfaction

sandrew So Keith hasn't even done his set yet. There's hope yet. This could be an unusual set list at the very least.
08-27-03 06:20 PM
stonesstein Short set list, eh?
08-27-03 06:20 PM
sandrew No way the show ends there. I gots a good feeling.
08-27-03 06:21 PM
duijf ENSTL is also played
08-27-03 06:21 PM
jopo maybe they're closing down the gig early because mick lost his voice?
08-27-03 06:22 PM
duijf sandrew, they are almost finished... we just have a little bit that we don't know yet, including keiths set
08-27-03 06:22 PM
sandrew If so, why not bring on Taylor to give his voice a long rest!
08-27-03 06:23 PM
stonesstein either this is a WIERD set list all out of order or we have not gotten the whole thing.....

seems very UNlike the Stones to change up anything from their usual theater/club setlist othe than to have aguest or add a new song........
08-27-03 06:23 PM
sandrew Oh, gotcha, Duijf.
08-27-03 06:23 PM
Boomy Is it just me, or did they speed up towards the end? Like they wanted to get the hell out of there..
08-27-03 06:26 PM
sandrew And why so many warhorses. All very bizarre, if you ask me. This day's been a roller coaster.
08-27-03 06:29 PM
stonesstein I kind of expected some rare gems or even first time live songs, but then again, maybe their creativity level is just more focused towards perfecting the existing songs for the DVD..................

08-27-03 06:30 PM
hayo What the **** is going on there?
I get the feeling MT will be on stage in a minute now!
Or is there some major problem with MJ voice??
Anyway, very exciting this, even from my pc at home.
08-27-03 06:30 PM
Angiegirl Ok, finished now, let's wait for the stories...
08-27-03 06:31 PM
stonesstein Are they done?

08-27-03 06:31 PM
sandrew Sounds like it. We just happen to have a big hole in the set-list, exactly where Taylor would have played. But surely someone would've phoned in the news?
[Edited by sandrew]
08-27-03 06:32 PM
Angiegirl Hayo, why didn't you join the DW chat with me, Duijf and Rem???
08-27-03 06:37 PM
Angiegirl Ok, SSC phoned me, Rock Me Baby was cut out of setlist...
Keef was very loud, Ronnie wasn't, hmmm...
And Mick's voice was VERY bad at the end...

sandrew Can't wait to hear the fallout of all this. I wonder if there was some kind of ego-tussle, last-minute cancellation ...
08-27-03 06:38 PM
duijf This is for sure:

Jumping Jack Flash
LIve With Me
Hand of Fate
No Expectations,
Worried About You
Heart Breaker
Its Only Rock and Roll
Aint too Proud to Beg

Can't Turn you Loose
Honkey Tonk Women
Start Me Up
Brown Sugar
Satisfaction

plus there's ENSTL somewhere in there.

and THSMLI and Nearness are very probable, IMO.

Me too Sandrew, me too...
08-27-03 06:42 PM
duijf I think there's a keith song missing in there... probably Nearness
08-27-03 06:43 PM
Angiegirl Where's the 2nd Keef song???
08-27-03 06:44 PM
sandrew Oh, well. If he's in their good graces, maybe we'll get an appearance at Wembley or something. Or maybe we're simply all wet about this.
