TheSavageYoungXyzzy Where can I find this little gem online?

Do you think Ulf might put it on his list?

I heard at Stonesdoug's that they in fact took a verse from this version to play live, enhancing the 'jam feel' of the whole thing.

So I must hear it!

Because I have a thing for "Dance Pt. 1"!

Don't ask why!

Just listen!

And it's got you movin'!

-tSYX --- Twist a little closer, now...

"Sucking In The Seventies" so far I've only seen on vinyl!

And I've been seized with a sudden desire to hear it!

Maxlugar Sucking in the 70's is the poorest excuse for a best of album in the history of the universe.

Answer this question:

Why would a band put out an album of what they think are good examples of their songs of the 70's only to cut them so badly so as to leave them with no soul?

It's the "What the fuck?" album of our generation.

Took me a long time to get over that one.

Macksee!

TheSavageYoungXyzzy Maxy -

Is it just me, or is the playing on "If I Was A Dancer" noticibly poorer than "Dance Pt. 1"?

-tSYX --- Why should I care?
09-14-02 09:58 PM
Maxlugar I thought it was the exact same backing track.....

Doesn't sound like it. The bass is actually better, but the horns are weaker.

-tSYX --- Can you see the real me?

I think it's different. Can't have a listen at the moment.
But I'm one of the few that always liked both Dance 1 & 2 !!
It's all grooving and those opening lines from I:
"Keith, what 're you doing on . ." I like it !!

I am down with that, Max.

What were they thinking circumsizing Crazy Mama like that?! Gaah.

Have you ever read Lester Bangs' description of the irresistible compuslion that led the purchase of that album, even though he knew it was a total waste of wax?

It starts off:

"My whole life had been leading up to this mystical act of Oneness or attrition or atonement or some sick dark impulse: I spent five dollars and seventy five cents on a copy of Sucking in the 70s."

And goes from there.

How many of us have taken that same magical journey?

Gettin' ready to do the same thing with 40 Licks!
