They already have- it's called A Bigger Bang. It's a new release by the STONES (it was released last week). When you get a chance, you may want to pick up a copy.
Oh, we were talking about the Crowes. A very good release, much better than Lion, is called BY YOUR SIDE. For the Crowes, it's a good album.

I like all the ones I have (everything except 'Lions').
'Shake Your Money Maker' is a good debut. A bit Stones-ey, a bit Faces-ey, a bit AC/DC-ey. Chuck is on keyboards. My least favourite.
'Southern Harmony and Musical Companion' is a major step up from '...Money Maker' probably due to extensive touring and the addition of Marc Ford (geetar) and Eddie Harsch (keys). The playing's more fluent, a more rootsy feel and better songs are evident.
'Amorica' is my favourite. Definitely a 'studio' album and probably their funkiest. Not in a James Brown or Meters way, but a bit like 'There'e A Riot Goin' On' - all paranoid and claustrophobic. Everything on it has its place, a bit like Exile.
'Three Snakes and One Charm' is criminally underated - a more laid back 'Amorica'. Loads of different styles mixed in with their Stones/Faces/ACDC hybrid rock 'n roll. Pyschedelia, country, funk, soul, gospel.
'By Your Side' is their 'popiest' album and I find their most uplifting, all gospel backing vocals and rauncy rock 'n roll riffs. A conscious decision to strip it all back to basics.
The order I would get these in would be 'Southern Harmony', 'Amorica', 'Money Maker', 'Three Snakes', and 'By Your Side'. |

Here's my ranking of their albums, from Best to Worst:
1) Amorica! (simply an ultra classic, one of top 10 albums by anyone ever)
2) South Harmony
3) Lions (underrated - the Goats Head Soup of the Crowes)
4) Three Snakes And One Charm
5) Shake Your Money Maker
6) By Your Side (snore) |

And come to think about it, Marc Ford's solo album (not either Robinson's solo work) would be at position 2 1/2 in this list. It is magnificent. |

LIONS is by far and away the best and most powerful they ever sounded.
Don Was produced the album and they recorded it in an old theater for better vibes and different vibes.
Powerful and GREAT SOUND. I love you/I hate you and soul singing are my fav's.
*I don't really care much for The Black Crows but I love this album and it's production style. Real Rock sound.

Southern Harmony blows me away. I am particular to that album bcause I feel it was there the Crowes touched something I cannot really put into words - but I can gve a Stones equivalent: I feel that's closest to the fear, insight, anxiety, transcendence of Sway and that line of songs I am particular to. Not to say that Amorica does not rock. I admit to not being familiar well enough with the last two albums to give an opinion about those, though. |
