A BIGGER BANG

Tomorrow it's the big stores, I'm sure that it will rise fast there.
September 12th, 2005 07:54 PM
jb Yet people threatened and attacked me when I said this thing would not come close to a million.......it will be lucky to sell domestically 100k units it's first week.
September 12th, 2005 08:01 PM
PeerQueer I will not mock you dear sir - though clearly you should be, if not thrilled with these stats, at least respectful. At this pace, one million units will happen rather simply.

Closer to 2 million is far more likely.

I hear the first video is going to be quite good, and should bump up interest in the album to a higher level than it already currently enjoys.

Now I am in complete agreement that said video should have been released about 2 months ago to better coordinate with the album's release date, but alas, I am not in charge of the Stones marketing.

If I am down in Florida this winter we shall dance to Streets of Love together - though you must promise to let me lead!

Is dead anywhere...

Here where I live, a city 400,000 people, the main store are selling around 5 units/day. What a shame.

Avril Lavigne & System of a Down are in the top of the list of "rock" music.

Mr Jimmy Thanks Soldatti.

Fun to watch... I can't believe it's already number 3. It's first on the list in terms of "real" music. I wonder if "young" people are buying it, or if it's just the old farts returning to the trough after the 8 year drought.

BlindLemon Tis over. Stones no. 3. It is Soldatti`s privilege to post the data, with all the unbelievable scouting he has been doing, so just a personal comment: I donīt know why it is so, but even though I ammyself European, I still consider the US charts THE coveted treasure. Even though Bang is no. 1. in Italy, Holland, Sweden, probably Denmark, I think Austria should be no exception, given its Stones-mania history, and if Germany pops in as well, this will be close to 180 mill people. Also, there is no contest that the Stones take Europe as a continent, with, I suppose around 280-300k in sales, which is very decent, and I think this does make Bang a big hit - yet the US charts have this magical quality. No Stones triumph will ever be complete without the US (the UK I care somewhat less about, they have the weirdest shit charting there at times, also, an incredibly fake, spin-dominated market). A new album and a Budapest stop on the European leg are the only things which could make me forget this no. 3 thing... It would have been so cool. Well, at least we have an incredibly cool album on hand.

Just saw Soldatti was right on the clock - as always.

Here im my city (Caxias do Sul/Brasil) I've asked to the vendors in the main store records and they told me: "just the old farts!"

Anyway, I've decide to buy an extra copy and gave away to a 20 yrs girl, Alinne. She said to me "they're fantastic!".
An then we had wild sex
Very usefull CD! Is it Bang, init?

the good Number three is pretty good. A lot of their best albums never went number one. For example, I believe "Let It Bleed" only went to number three in the States.
