Hey Guys,
Was away from a net connetion for a few days. I feel I owe it to the board to summarize the ON STAGE experience:
The Cons:
Organization, I had already left for the show before they sent out the instruction email. Getting the ticket at will call was easy enough, but finding out where to go from there was tough, we just ran accross dumb luck and found the right entrance on our own.
Your booth company: this is a pro and a con. we had 7 people in our booth, six of whom were dancing up a storm, singing, cheering, laughing, hi fiving, and just having a great time...you all made our experience even better! Unfortunately we had one asshole in our booth who was so drunk he could hardly walk. He would stumble to the bar, order a beer (how in the hell they sold to this guy is beyond me!) and as soon as he would get back to the box, he would stumble and dump his beer, usually on someone else. Additionally, we had to empty the box so that someone could mop the mess up (this happened four times!) During this time, we couldnt watch the show.
The View of the band: I could see the entire stage great except for direct front and center and the horn section....fifth row center at Boston was a better seat for sure.
Opening act: We did not have access to see the warm up bands...i could care less, so it was not a con for me.
Pros:
The View: you can see the entire crowd, see which sections are dancing, cheering etc...you really feel like a part of the show. ALso, you would be surprised to see how may people get ejected for drunkedness and fighting.....I could have made a 2 hour video for my son to watch on reasons not to drink like a fish and then go to a public event!
Bar/Bathroom access: There was a bar on each level of boxes and many venue employees willing to escort you to the bathroom at any time...good job here!
People in the box with you: Most were rabid fans who were up there to party and have a great time...Shidoobees will feel right at home.
Backstage feel: you get to see where the stones take the stage, a row of guitars, stage hands working on the moving stage, etc.....great feeling also walking through the players tunnel, etc...i truly had a VIP feeling.
Band interactions: we always see Keith playing to Charlie from the stands, but nothing compares to seeing how they interact from Charlies point of view.
Security: The jackass that was out of line in our box was immediately ejected after the young lady (covered in beer) informed them of the guy....they came over watched him for about 10 seconds and told him his night was over. It is also worth noting that before we went up we were told that there would be a "no bullshit" tolerance policy in effect and that in this section, a higher standard of behavior was expected.
I am sure the lower boxes have a much better view than my upper box did, but i thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
Given the chance, i would take a seat in the first five rows, but otherwise, put my on stage any time!
I hope my review helped! |

I was so dehydrated from the Voodoo Pugs performance that i did not have to defecate or urinate the entire time at Soldier Field. I was told by my wife and mother that due to the recent renovations, the bathrooms were top notch, clean, and well stocked! Chicago has avoided humiliation! |

Were the tickets drawn by lottery or did you have to pay a premium price to get them? (I wasn't paying attention when they announced these tix) |
