I get a kick out of these - I enjoy reading the picks and comments of people who are as nuts about music as I am...
the fact that we are all Stones fans assures me that we have at least some sort of common ground...

Mr Jimmy |
Perfect day, driving in my car, and I played one of my 'warm weather' Stones' compilations that starts with Everything's Turning To Gold. Well... I just had to hear it again. And then again... "Now that the love juice starts to flow..." It turned into one of those drives when I listen to the same song 10 times in a row and I just can't get enough of it. Magical. |

yeah - same here - 'tho i've had jimi's "bold as love" on continuous rotation for over a week now
some times i think the constant flogging of one particular track can be a bit dangerous - you start getting right into the whole track to the point of obsession and even when your not listenting to it the thing still keeps playing in your head and can start to drive you nuts |

Yes. I suffered through that many times and it's outright nasty when it happens to be a horrible TV ad jingle unless of course the 'jingle' happens to be Start Me Up. |
|
Gimme Shelter |
Right now, I'm listening to David Bowie's "Hours" album. |

A very personal question... My latest stonesmobile is a VW Golf. Definitely not a hard ROCK mobile as it lacks single-minded-straight-line speed but I'm more of a rock 'n' ROLL guy and my car turns left just as good as it turns right, and there's a tiny hint of underlying quality without pretension or flash. And rather than blindly pumping it's fist in the air, it prefers to dance around to the rhythm of the road. It detests drum solos on freeways and enjoys back beats on back roads. Versatility is key... it's just as comfortable playing Sympathy For The Devil as it is Miss You.

BEER:
Good going! The Animals are rarely mentioned on Stones sites. Their early stuff (63-65) was easily on a par with the Stones stuff from that era. I listen to those recordings at least as often as the Stones'. Burdon remains true and faithful to the original spirit, too. |

Absolutely! I got the two disk collection of all that stuff from '63 to '65. It really is great. I've been playin it alot lately. It's cool to hear the Animals do some of the same cover songs the Stones did back then also (Memphis Tennessee, Bright Lights, She said yeah, etc) |
