It has been on cable here too in the Midwest. I have a copy of it but have
not seen it yet. Heard it is not that good but I think the actors did the best
with what they had to work with. |

I still haven't seen the movie. I have heard bad and good reviews. Maybe if
Stephen Woolley had a larger budget than $18 million and had a better script
with a better backing as he was looking for one through other producers,
writers, etc., it may have been a whole lot better. I like those still shots.
Is that supposed to be Anna with Frank(?) down on his knees in the kitchen?
Guess I'll see it one of these days. |

The film was never going to be any good once Tom Keylock was involved. |

Yes S&K I agree. Uncut magazine was not allowed to speak to Tom Keylock
while they were filming the movie either. This also raises strong suspicions.
I wonder if Stephen Woolley actually knew what kind of a person Keylock
really was? Using him in the film is one thing but I would never rely on
him as the main source of information for it. I hope SW went to other sources
like Anna, Pat and some of Brian's friends who are still living. I heard that
Keylock gave Leo Gregory (who plays BJ) "the creeps", and that Keylock
supposedly had a poster of him in his trailer for the movie or a different one.
Keylock from what I gather has always known more than what he has been
telling. |

One more question please. In the picture entitled "Brian with girls" where
was that supposed to be? At Cotchford Farm or a different place?
Who are the girls supposed to be? Anna and another girl or just two females
he had at his house? Or Anita and another girl? I was wondering who the
naked girl was, and the other one with her dress up and the scarf around
her head was in the movie? Thanks. |

It's a decent film, all things considered. It's far more engaging than, say, "The Doors" by Oliver Stone. It's played very well by some good actors. It's shot a bit over grand, maybe, by a director who's keen to make it memorable. Fans of The Rolling Stones must see it, of course.
The still pics of 'Brian with girls' are either from outtakes (as they don't appear in the film) or were intended as titilating publicity shots. Probably both. |

Sorry, but I saw the film, and this girls are involved in that scene which should the audience shows Brians sexlife...

I wish Leo Gregory would come over to the US and get some notoriety on
our programs like Hugh Laurie has. I see Rowan Atkisson (Mr Bean) has a
new movie out. I just love him he is so damn funny!! I am definitely going
to watch it when it comes on cable. Another British comedian I wish would
come here is Harry Enfield the guy who does the voice of the gnome on the
Travelocity commercials. He is an absolute riot, cracks me up all the time!!
I wonder if the British audiences understand Robin Williams or George
Carlin's humor? |

the film was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Main thing that bugged me was how ugly the Brian actor was. A lot was about Thorogood and Keylock and their involvement, which I find right on. Somehow those two played a role in what went down back then.

Yes Leo did not look like Brian at all. But I guess he had the right look and
ability and experience they were looking for, who knows. I thought just
from the clips I had seen on YouTube and other places that the other actors
really did a great job in their roles. Maybe if Mr. Woolley had a better
backing, more money, better writers and producers the film would have
turned out differently. I really don't know what to think about it so far. |

We don't really have much problem understanding American humour as we get plenty of it on TV. Carlin isnt as well known over here as Williams, but personally I find him hilarious. |

Yes, I also think that Tom and Frank had a lot to do with the drama that went on these days. But it isnīt that easy like demonstrated in "stoned".
I can imagine that a few people are really pleased with this version... which reminds me of the story around the murder of JFK. Someone has to be blamed, so the puplic is contented and can go back to the usual boring things. |
