NATCHITOCHES, La. -- A New Orleans man was wounded by gunfire in a botched holdup in a Natchitoches Wal-Mart restroom Sunday, police said.
Viator Tyndale, 48, told police that someone reached over the side of a stall and fired one shot into the floor, then demanded money. The gunman then moved to the front of the stall and fired two more rounds. Tyndale said he shoved the swinging stall door at the robber, who then fled the restroom.
Tyndale suffered a small cut on his hand from shoving the door.
A shopper in the store said he received a minor arm wound from what he believes is a round that exited the bathroom.
Lonnie Davis, of Natchitoches, was treated at the scene and declined further medical treatment.
The investigation is continuing.
Police are reviewing store surveillance video. |

Hey guys.
You know I'd never, ever make light of stuff like that, but you should see what's making the news in Europe tonight.
It's little kids. Just little kids. Hundreds of them.
All killed at their school. In Chechnya, it was. |

Not exactly in Chechnya, but in nearby region. A group of Chechen terrorists held the kids and teachers and parents hostages for 2 days, killing some and refusing them water and food. Horrible. In the end, the local army and the Russian special forces stormed the building, and it ended in bloodbath. And yes, there's more than 150 deads, and not everybody was accounted for so there will be more... |

Man, that whole Chechnya situation is fucked up.
And what is it with Russian Spec Ops? Didn't things go terribly wrong during the hostage taking at that theatre a while back? Like, piles of dead hostages and stuff? I thought those guys were supposed to be really good?
This is just awful.

How exactly are you supposed to deal with insane fanatics with weapons - who would go into a school and hold a thousand children hostage?
Reason doesn't enter here.

Well during the hostage taking in the theater, they pumped so much soporific gas into the building that they ended up killing more people than the terrorists did. I don't know yet what happened this time, but I sure hope that reason *did* enter in the way they stormed the school. Not that there was necessarily a good way to get these children out of there, but there was certainly a choice between more or less dangerous options.
In any case, this is a horrible story. Apparently they're having a big party for the beginning of school each year, and they took advantage of that... |
