I heard that the White Stripes will be playing a Yard Birds tribute show in London next week with Jeff Beck. Evidently the White Stripes are backing up Jeff Beck. Has anyone heard anything else about this?? |

Jeff is indeed doing a few shows this weekend. I heard it was more of a Beck show that spanned his entire career not a Yardbirds tribute.
But they may be backing him up for the Yardbird songs.
Alex is going so he'll be able to tell us everything.
He's a good boy, that Alex.

Thank You!
The 4 shows he is doing are called "From The Yardbirds To The Future" This is how the special guests line up
Roger Waters 12&13th
The White Stripes 13&14th
John McLaughlin 14th
Im going on the 14th, so i get the Stripes and this John Guy. Id love to know how the White Stripes are going to be involved in these shows. I guess i will have to wait untill next week.
Its a bit of a bummer, becsause my seats are "restricted view" This makes no sense because they were NOT the cheapest seats. I have been to this pokey little scruffy hall before and im pretty sure you can see okay from whereever you are sitting.
Expect a full report soon

Hey, right on! I bet it will be a great show. I've tried to find a little more info about it and here is something from Jack White: "Meg and i have been rehearsing with Jack Lawrence, the bass player from the Greenhornes, because we are playing two sets of Yardbirds songs behind Jeff Beck in London next week. it's an honor for us. the Yardbirds, along with other english bands of the time, reinvigorated american blues from the south, turned it into rock n' roll, and then it became a huge influence to american garage rock bands of the sixties. the Yardbirds are definitely one of the most important english bands in the history of rock n' roll, and this privilege is not going unfelt by Meg and myself." -Jack White |
