Topic: New Orleans is/was the Greatest Music City In America Return to archive

jcdesq New Orleans invented American music. Blues, Jazz, Gospel and it progeny, Rock, R&B and soul. As the NY Times put it the other day- "New Orleans is responsible for all American music left of Barry Manilow."

I am not putting down your respective cities and the great music made there. I am just saying that it was all spawned in the deep, southern gumbo that is/was New Orleans and spread out from there. If you don't know of him, you should research a guy named Buddy Bolden.

God bless that city. Give a hand.
