chris girard I like it too, Back of my Hand is one of the best blues songs in years. I'd love to hear them do Dangerous Beauty live and I loove Sweet Neo-Con. My favorite line is the one that 'gives me the shits', just a classic line. I will not getinto politics but its not a bad song. Overall I'd give it a 9.7

Steel Wheels A Bigger Bang is the best rock and roll album in years. I cannot begin to tell y'all how this record cheered me up. It was like a ray of sunshine or something. This is an instant classic for me.

Hearing the band start up with those chords to Rough Justice was like an orgasm. It's a full tilt old school, Rolling Stones song. No frills. Just a bunch of blokes with guitars around their necks.

Hearing the Stones do the blues, is just...mind blowing. Back of My Hand is genius. Muddy and the Wolf would be proud.

exile Whats not to like ???

Rough Justice, It Won't Take Long, Back Of My Hand, She Saw Me Coming, Biggest Mistake, Oh No, Not You Again, Dangerous Beauty, Laugh, I Nearly Died, Sweet Neo Con, Driving Too Fast, Infamy
Stand out tracks for me

love the bridge in Dangerous Beauty
Driving Too Fast just fucking rocks in my opinion best on album. (at the moment )

lotsajizz Driving Too Fast is my favorite also.

Jumacfly I skip RFD, Neocon and SOL...I think the rest is great, exactly what I expected from the Stones in 2005...
the guys waiting for a new Exile (and complaining) are just stoopid wankers IMHO ....1972 is, over, wake up!!
just take what they got to give, and it ROCKS!!!

the cat is a great groovy classic!!

I agree Jumac. The Cat although despised by many is a great tune with a heavy groove and loud guitars. One of my favorites on ABB.

I agree totally!
I REALLY like the album, to tell the truth I was expecting another VL, Im glad to say they exceeded my expectations. Which is fantastic.

DTF I'll say it again, best on album
IWTL what great guitar from Keith, makes the song
Biggest Mistake, I like this one, a lot of people very negative to this one. I dont know why, I like the country groove.
Infamy is GREAT!!! really enjoy that one
On first listen I wasnt so hot on RFD, its growing on me

egon weather's absolute shite here!
but i don't care, cos i gots me a bigger bang.

love it all, but especially rough justice, driving too fast,
not you again, back of my hand

slighly too much "jagger solo";
Rain Fall Down, Streets Of Love,
& Biggest Mistake

biggest mistake is probably the weakest link on the album
("GOODBYE!")

ifamy still needs to grow on me a bit

I like biggest cuz of the vocals on intro and outro..reminds me a lot the pixies back vox style..

Rain fall down : a good idea, to much Mattcliffored for me!
note the "preproduction by Matt Clifford", the guy arrived at Jagger's house with a loop and they did a song with it...that sucks!

neocon bores me, the harmonica is too repetitive and the song is too long...
13/16 songs do it for me...
September 8th, 2005 09:05 AM
egon neocon is ok, but the chorus/refrein annoyes me slightly

glencar Except for "Cat" I like it all! This is the best the Stones have done since Undercover. Maybe earlier but I'm kinda tired right now. The disappointing thing is knowing that most of these songs will never be played on commercial radio around here.

an arena show with the whole record would be so cool!!
September 8th, 2005 10:19 AM
glencar They must start playing "Laugh" certainly as the ballad number.

Agree with that....a few songs must join the set list:

Laugh
Driving
Cat
...

September 8th, 2005 12:38 PM
glencar I could do w/o Cat. Maybe It Won't Take Long.

blah ha ha ha

I like this Izzy fella. He calls it like it is.

what BB really needs is Izzy & Rick Richards on it. Music with some fuckin balls!

btw, Izzy's 1st record & 119 Degrees are both on my Desert Island list. Great shit.
