Ten Thousand Motels Bring back Taylor and fire him....or at least threaten to, until he quits drinking.
Just kidding....

sammy davis jr. Have been watching the Waddy Wachtel stuff on You Tube from the Joint....he plays the Stones stuff much better than Keith or Ron ever have. Hell, he could replace both of 'em and it would sound better.

cabledogg2 After all it costs around $145 to see a rock star who can hardly handle the (guitar) riff to 'Brown Sugar' any more."

Sometimes the truth hurts..............

gotdablouse These comments don't sound good, is his playing bad on Biggest Bang too ? Haven't had a chance to watch it yet...

@sammy davis jr. - yes Waddy is a great player, got a link for these vids ?

Riffhard The fact is that it has not only been this reviewer's observation othat Keith's performance from that night was horrid. I remember that show being talked about by many others that were there and are genuine fans of the Stones. I take their reviews more seriously than a paid critic. As has been stated, sometimes the truth hurts.

I hope that Keith sees this review as a wake up call. His debaucherous legend can only carry him so far. At some point he needs to show up with his "guitar face" on again. Although it did seem that his performances got better after that show. Still this leg of the tour has suffered the most negative reviews that I have seen in a long time, and most of them have been Keith related.

Just read Keith's Mojo interview. Good stuff! He still delivers an incredible read and just seeing the questions made me ponder that a journalist can NEVER get bored while interviewing this man.

I agree witchoo Fotini! this reviewer has me burning up!

I agree with that, and I'm not kidding. One can feel sorry about his arthritis, but he can at least be sober on stage. And I love Keith. But he's never grown up.

Blondie's overdubs sound great.

The jinn, my friend. If the Rolling Stones really were bigger then all of them, there would have been an exit plan. Understudies and apprentices should have been in place for sometime to be highlighted when the masters wanted to kickback and enjoy the fruits of the tree. Truthfully, the Rolling Stones is not bigger than all of them. Like the Tonight show, the Rolling Stones, as an institution, could have carried on, if proper direction from the helm had been given.

Ain't that the truth..even made our cowtown newspaper this morning..
Maybe Keith doesn't mind being mentioned in the same gossip columns as Paris and Lindsay??!!

tumblingdice01 I was at the O2 on Sunday. Keith seemed a little detached at the beginning, however, by She Was Hot he was dynamite. From then on, he was animated, alert and able to play every lick that he wanted. When he wants to be 'on' he is more than capable. He isn't the same as he was 20 years ago, but then who is?
30th August 2007 08:35 AM
glencar This is at least as humiliating as the Timberlake incident, the Salt Lake City ABC thing & the palm tree/snorted ashes bit. Keith needs to STFU!

Jeff Beck. Robert Fripp. Andy Summers. Warren Haynes. Lenny Kaye. Pete Townshend.

All of the above are better players now than in 1987. Even Woodie plays better now. Keith is NOT. That's not opinion, that's FACT.

glencar No, that's opinion.

corgi37 Call me biased, but i believe the word of some old cunt who might not be able to play "Brown Sugar" more than i do from some word processing maggot who scored a free ticket and cant even find an open A chord.

Volvo, Abba & the SAAB Viggen fighter jet (which WAS shit hot!) and groovy porn.

Bruno Good for that journalist. People should bash Keith more often.

I´m tired of people kissing Keith´s ass for everything he does. The man can´t play Satisfaction riff properly anymore. He is that angry because he knows the journalist said the awful truth. He has the guts to go onstage drunk, or whatever. Of course, he has been doing that for ages, but come on... you charge a fortune for a ticket to watch a guy fucking everything up? That is a lame atitude.

If you´re taking Keith´s side on this affair, you´re in a deep and naive denial. IMO

gimmekeef Some observations on this:

*Who will care outside of the diehard fans?
*Keith isnt about to change his habits after 45 years
*An article written about this in Rolling Stone or Mojo or any other music rag would have more impact
*The only folks who I will listen to about Keiths crap playing are the ones who actually attended the shows...
*The whole band has been in decline since 72 in different forms
*They will tour in Spring 2008 and I will pay dearly for the priviledge to attend knowing I'm going to hear assorted fuck ups...lame setlist...with Shine A Light being turned into a warhorse to promote a film no one besides us will go to see.....
