Topic: Michael to the rescue!!! Return to archive
September 6th, 2005 10:15 PM
Riffhard Well, there can be no doubt that many people have used the Hurricane Katrina disaster for nothing more than political expliotation, see Jesse Jackson, the "angry left",redneck white supremesists,...the list goes on and on. But you gotta give it up for Micheal Jackson!! Nothing can jump start this freaks career like a good natural disaster. Jackson is going to release a single to bennefit the victims of Katrina!! Bravo Micheal!! This single should raise tens of dollars-maybe even dozens of dollars-for the victims!!

I guess I'm being a little cynical here, but I mean c'mon now! This guy is too much. Hey,here's an idea Micheal. Just donate a million dollars of your own cash. God knows that will be more than any record of yours will generate.

Yeah, by comparison, that's just what Stephen Spielberg did: donate $1.5 M of his own money. Other Hollywood celebrities (often bashed for their political opinions, go figure) raised to the occasion too. Fund-raising, donations, etc.

corgi37 If that Jackson freak showed up here, he'd be lynched. Either Jackson, for that matter. hahaha.

I also saw Sean Penn went there. Took a little dinghy to "rescue people". Trouble is, he had his personal photographer, assistant, stylist, moustache groomer with him. SO, like, the boat was full! Also, he forgot the little plug, so it was leaking straight away.

I also saw Travolta flew his own ex-Qantas jet down there full of tonnes of supplies. Now, THAT is what i call helping. I like him. Hate is quack "religion", but i give him 10/10 for that. Oprah helped arrange it too.

I gotta say, from over here, it looks a complete, sad, total mess. It's not really the time or place to get political or put racial over tones to this, but as i have heard some people say.

Would the response have been so shoddy had it been Beverley Hills?

Not that roaming gangs of fuck wits shooting choppers, repair men, and raping little children is a good thing. Who'd want to rescue those dogs anyway?

But, really, how dumb is it to build a city UNDER sea level????

egon what about almost a whole country?

The city wasn't actually "built below sea level", originally like many places in South Louisiana the land was just above sea level. Most of the "sinking" of NO has taken place over the last 50-100 years. California is on a fault line, Japan is on a fault line, the entire Caribbean basin is in a hurricane zone as is Florida and a few other states, ...what would happen if a comet or an asteroid slammed into the Atlantic ocean and flooded all the coastal cities?.....etc. etc.... We all take chances no matter where we live.

corgi37 Aint no chances living in Australia.

Oh, well, ya might get eye strain from the shelias.

Foreigners might not be able to handle the beer.

And playing Aussie Rules footy will kill non-Aussie wimps.

But thats about it.

Apart from the fact we got the most poisonous spiders and snakes in the history of the frigging world!

And, we dont care! We aint scared of shit.

Well, maybe the threat of 100mill Indonesians invading, but apart from that, and the sharks, we aint scared of shit!

Ten Thousand Motels I thought this thread was about Jacko. I'm sure he'd like to move down under.
September 8th, 2005 10:48 AM
egon I'm sure jacko will live in France one day,
people love him here.

I remember this one night in the pub.
I met a guy who was crazy about Michael.
absolutely NUTS he was... about him.

We got to talk about "the children" (as you do when discussing jackson).
And I swear to god, he had tears in his eyes, saying
how wrong al these accusations were and that people were
mean. mean because they were jealous. (of what I still don't know)

and then... then he asked the barman to play some michael.
I'm like; fair enough. he likes michael, it's a free country,
he can ask what he want right?

But then, the barman PLAYS some michael….
Michael jackson is being played in MY pub,
while I'm drinking MY beer.
(Beer that I had to work hard for btw!)
Michael is with me while I’m drinking beer.

But THEN... this guy starts to do an "impression" of
michael. dancing around the pub, doing the ooh's & aaah's,
grabbing the crouch, pointing the finger in the air,
you know the drill.

So I’m like, no worries, this will all be taken care of
very soon. there are 3 bouncers over there in the corner,
there's a baseball bat behind the bar. 5 more
minutes and we are all back in beer drinking mode,
listening to rock music & talking shit.

AND THEN..., THEN the whole pub went wild; clapping singing,
doing the whoo's & aaah's, ENCOURAGING the guy to keep
donig what he does.

And boy did he. The last thing I saw, before going blind,
was him ripping his shirt to pieces.

So yeah, I think Michael Jackson wil move here soon,
he is much loved by the french
