Gimme Shelter I went and saw Tool last night at the Sleeptrain Amphitheatre in Marysville and they rocked. That was my fifth time seeing them and they never dissapoint.

Dan I saw them twice in 1993 at Lollapalooza, they were alright but never got back into them after the long delay into the next album.

And I still have a heartbreaking flyer from the old days -

Rage Against The Machine
Tool
Club With No Name
sometime in early '92 before the first RATM CD but I already had the demo tape
$5

I didn't go because I didn't have $5 plus bus money.

mac_daddy alot of folks are recording these shows...

i understand that maynard's body guard actively looks for tapers during the sets, and when he finds them, he promptly issues a beat-down.

kind of like the old jerry garcia days, but i was into jgb (not a big tool fan)

Any links to any first hand experiences?

Actually I was thinking of hitting Staples on Friday because its so wide open and tickets are dirt cheap on EBay.

yep - hell's angels. and they were heavy-handed with tapers, to be sure... this was esp. true of those later multi-night stands, like the wiltern, or the place in nyc - the gigs that were advertised with that dracula-esque pic of jerry (i cant believe i am blanking on the venue and year, atm, but i know it was the late 80s)...
