What's the deal with Keith's last name? Is it Richard or Richards? I've seen both. |

He was born Keith RICHARDS. In the early 60's he changed it to RICHARD, but in the 80's he reverted back to Richards. I don't think the RICHARD was ever an official thing. |

Andrew Oldham thought it'd be cooler if he dropped the "s" from his name. |

It was Richard from the start of his career (the 's' was dropped on the suggestion of Andrew Oldham) until the time of his Toronto trial in 1977-78 when he reverted to his original name.

He (Cliff) never made it over here for some reason. But I guess he and his promoters tried a couple of times. |

Makes sense. A friend of mine insists Keith's real name is Richard, not Richards. Now I can tell him to shove it! |

Yes. When he burst on the scene in the late 50's. I guess looking back and knowing what he became musically, the fact he was originally a rock 'n' roller just like Elvis must seem odd, but like Elvis, he changed his style of music in the early 60's. |

That’s understandable. I don’t know, but he may think that as Keith used RICHARD from the beginning of their recording career and it’s the name that appeared in magazines etc, but of course he was actually born RICHARDS. |
