I just read on another messageboard that bassist Jeff Sarli passed away recently. He played with the Stones on Bridges To Babylon and Keith loves playing with him.
Anyone have more news? |

Didnt know that. Thats too bad. Dont know much about the guy, other than his appearances on BTB (he plays bass on 3 songs - all of which are primarily Keith compositions - Flip the Switch, Too Tight and How Can I Stop. Good bass sound on those songs too!) |

Jeff was a masterful stand up bass player and performed blues, country, rock and rockabilly with just about the best in each genre.
He has a website www.jeffsarli.com
I used to sing with Jeff, I will miss him greatly

Last year Jeff told me he had some cassettes of him, Blondie and Keith Richards jamming all night and wanted me to get them on cd for him. Unfortunately he never got around to bringing them to me. Here's a pic of him with Keith and also with levon Helm and Hubert Sumlin
"Got this guy from Baltimore, Jeff Sarli, plays like Willie Dixon. I didn't want that same electric bass texture. I wanted a little more roll to it, 'cos we've got enough rock. Whatever did happen to the roll? Actually it probably lives in an upright bass.
KEITH RICHARDS---MOJO"
