VoodooChileInWOnderl I just received a phone call from Gazza, Mick Taylor is in the same hotel that the Stones (not usual as the budgets are a little bit different) and he will be on stage with the Stones for the first time since 1981 (or the Hall of Fame in 1986 if we can call that a stage)

PLEASE!!!!! It'd be great for the Stones to have a LEAD guitarist once again. Sadly, I know it won't be permanent, but hopefully someone WILL tape this. Can't wait for the bootleg!

Tom This will be the best club show so far, can't wait for the bootleg, or maybe an official release

One can only hope that they'll CYHMK and YCAGWYW with Taylor. Especially CYHMK. He's been playing that live ever since he started doing solo tours, so he'll be sharp and spot-on. Definitely coffee break time for Woody.

Well that's an intriguing idea too. I think SFTD would be great for that! But for CYHMK, I'd prefer to leave it to Taylor. It's his baby solo-wise, let him show everyone what COULD be. I don't intend to slam Woody, but I sure miss the fluidity that MT brought the Stones. I'd like to hear Taylor blast away at those leads while Keef & Woody grind it out in the background.

Agreed! This is probably going to be a one-time affair, so I say let Mick T. play the whole damn thing. I want that boot too!!! :drool:
08-27-03 12:50 PM
jb Marko.....please
08-27-03 01:00 PM
T&A I hate to be a nay-sayer - but although it looks like there will be an appearance by MT, I don't think it will be particularly memorable. The Stones will allow him 12 bars on Rock Me Baby and say good-bye. A sentimental moment, but musically a non-sequiter....
08-27-03 01:03 PM
Factory Girl They should let him solo on CYHMK, but they don't want to be upstaged. However, I'm still very happy!!!
08-27-03 01:04 PM
sandrew Hold out hope for "Knocking." It's a natural choice and would require nothing more than a brief run at soundcheck.
08-27-03 01:09 PM
jb I think T&A is absolutely correct....but better than nothing.

Joey

I am now so excited that I am typing this with my nipples .

Let me be amongst the first to request a boot of THIS one .

See .............Dreams do come true ( AGAIN ) !!!

Oh my GOD , Poem alert :

Mick Taylor's Fingers ,
They make me quiver when they deliver ;
I's cries a river with my Gin soaked liver ,
Whilst the notes -- they slink and they slither .

-- Thank You !

JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ JA JAC JACK the Y !

Now that stuff about "crying a river" reeeally turns me off!
08-27-03 01:25 PM
Boomy Is Justin going to be there, too?
08-27-03 01:26 PM
Joey " i thought your liver was tequila soaked. now i'm confused. "

Did you say Booze ??????????

Now the walls are all clawed and scratched
Like by some soul insane ;
In the morning I humbly detach myself
I take no blame .
I just can't face my failure
I'm nothing but a well juiced sailor ;
You at home can easily decide what's right
By glancing very briefly at the poems I write .
But it don't help me that you know ................
This ain't no way out .
Won't somebody tell me?
I don't care what you say girl ;
There ain't no way out .................

There ain't no way out .................
There ain't no way out .................
There ain't no way out .

Give me the key, lock it away !
Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

beer this is the best news. Love in Vain must be played!
08-27-03 01:42 PM
TheSavageYoungXyzzy Jacky, However much you booze, pal, Taylor ain't gonna play on "Can't You Hear Me Knocking"...

...well, hang on. It does seem like quite the natural choice.

And you *know* just having Taylor next to him is gonna make Ronnie wanna play like a motherfucker. So if Taylor gets a solo on "Knocking", who cares!

Good for him! I'm actually psyched for this. Let's hope it's not '81 redux where nothing much happened. Let's hope it's the best effing club show ever.

Any word on if he's playing the whole night or just making an AC/DC appearance?

-tSYX --- Silver train it's a-comin'...
