The BBC's digital radio station 6 Music is marking the 40th anniversary of The Rolling Stones with a special week of programming, starting on Monday, 16 September.

The week takes in the music that spanned their career - from their debut in the Marquee Club in July 1962 to their record-breaking stadium tours of the Eighties and Nineties.

It also features archive material and a Stones documentary on Tom Robinson's Evening Sequence.
