Fuck! |
just saw a great thread on IORR called:
'How much did ABB cost you?'
now let's see how much we on Rocks Off have spent on the Rolling Stones the past 3 years, and how much we spent together in total!
Total Cost of my 2006/2007 A Bigger Bang Adventure:
€750,- Euro's
=
$960,75 USD

15 shows with varying expenses but I'll say roughly $1K per show, including tix. Maybe a bit more. Definitely less on the next tour. Gotta save for my dotage. |

About 10K in tickets between my wife and I
about 3K in airfare
about 3K in hotels
about 3-5K in gas/meals/drinks
Probably about 20K total, I am wishing I did about 3 more shows (Pitt 05, Omaha 06, and Beacon, which I had a ticket for but was stuck in Nashville for work!!) |

First time I've actually stopped to think about this...
Travelling - about £700
Accommodation - about £1,000
(Free in New York. Thank you, Jaxx and her sister! Wouldn't have gone otherwise)
Presale fees - £230
Tickets - £1,500 (about 40% of this consisted of the 02 shows!)
Food & drink - God knows.
Official merchandise - nothing as a point of principle. Got given some cool t-shirts as presents, though.
Memories - Incalculable. I've had so much fun and met so many great people (old friends and new friends) in the last 19 months. Something you cant put a price tag on.
13 shows (11 in Europe, 2 in US) and not one cancellation or postponement. VERY lucky compared to some others. I managed to see almost a quarter of all the total European shows without having any major hassles.

I particularly liked the "$3 drink" mentioned. I am afraid I would not be able to add up all the intangibles to get an accurate number, I forgot about t shirts, pre shows, etc. My accountant told me yesterday that he was happy that the tour was over so that I would focus more on growing the accounts instead of depleting them to travel and see the stones! |

a few hundred bucks, I am too lazy to look for my IORR post
11/4/05 Anaheim - Tickets $20 x 2, lots of beer though
11/6 + 8/05 Hollywood Bowl snuck into both shows, first show I drank a six pack of something in the picnic area, second show I drank 4 cans of Sparks which is not a good idea as it makes me go absolutely insane, if there was a GA area I probably would have staarted a mosh pit
Bootleg T Shirt: $6
11/11/05 Petco Park - Onstage Ticket - free, Train $26 one way, also gave Macdaddy gas money since he drove me there. Spent a lot on beer and food
11/20/05 Fresno - total cost for a ticket $90, total loss on tickets sold around $40,
situation recapped here:
http://www.geocities.com/ijwthstd/frezticket.html
but also picked up $65ish along the way at one of the previous shows
3/6/06 one ticket $80, MTA Day Pass $3, loss on tickets sold: around $20
11/22/06 one 4th row ticket $110, MTA Day Pass $3,
Probably spent more on beer than tickets.

The reason why I won't ever stress or spend my money on them again...
If/when they tour again, I'll decide 48 to 24 hours before the show on my plan of attack. |

I wasn't as pissed as most others about this because I knew I'd be going to the Beacon show & THAT wasn't getting postponed(the 1st one, anyway!). I still took a chance on Slane Castle because I was afraid of that one getting postponed & it was such a short trip to start with. But honestly, any trips I make are to meet others as much as to see a show & even though ACY was ESPECIALLY egregious, I went to the make-up show & it was fantastic. Life's too short to remain angry at Mick! |
