You last heard Aint No Use In Crying on commercial radio?
Well, just now!
As I type this, longtime Boston DJ Charles Laquidara is ending his hourly show on WBOS, which was called Backspin.
Chuck would feature songs from a certain year for an hour.
Today was 1981, with all songs having a "leaving" theme.
Chuck was one of the most influential rock dj's in the US for over 30 years. As the case with commercial radio these days, "the suits" wanted to control his content, etc, so Chuck hit the road after six months.
He has a weekly gig on Manao Radio on Maui Wednesdays, as well as a Wicked Pissah blog which is a hilarious read.

So seldom are there class DJs anymores. This Chuck guy, Riffy, Nasty, Wolfman Jack (he was black)....they are few and far between.
