25th August 2006 03:44 AM
FotiniD Just seen Dead Man's Chest yesterday. Now I'm even more excited about Pirates 3 and Keith's cameo I was the crazy one laughing in scenes were Johnny was coming down from a palm tree, lol.

A CD is released next week, with pirate songs performed by various artists. Here's the setlist:

TRACKLIST CD1
1. Cape Cod Girls - Baby Gramps
2. Mingulay Boat Song - Richard Thompson
3. My Son John - John C. Reilly
4. Fire Down Below - Nick Cave
5. Turkish Revelry - Loudon Wainwright III
6. Bully In The Alley - The Old Prunes
7. The Cruel Ship’s Captain - Bryan Ferry
8. Dead Horse - Robin Holcomb
9. Spanish Ladies - Bill Frisell
10. High Barbary - Joseph Arthur
11. Haul Away Joe - Mark Anthony Thompson
12. Dan Dan - David Thomas
13. Blood Red Roses - Sting
14. Sally Brown - Teddy Thompson
15. Lowlands Away - Rufus Wainwright & Kate McGarrigle
16. Baltimore Whores - Gavin Friday
17. Rolling Sea - Eliza Carthy
18. Haul On The Bowline - Bob Neuwirth
19. Dying Sailor to His Shipmates - Bono
20. Bonnie Portmore - Lucinda Williams
21. The Mermaid - Martin Carthy & the UK Group
22. Shenandoah - Richard Greene & Jack Shit
23. The Cry Of Man - Mary Margaret O'Hara

TRACKLIST CD2

1. Boney - Jack Shit
2. Good Ship Venus - Loudon Wainwright III
3. Long Time Ago - White Magic
4. Pinery Boy - Nick Cave
5. Lowlands Low - Bryan Ferry w/ Antony
6. One Spring Morning - Akron/Family
7. Hog Eye Man - Martin Carthy & family
8. The Fiddler (Alt) - Ricky Jay & Richard Greene
9. Caroline and Her Young Sailor Bold - Andrea Corr
10. Fathom The Bowl - John C. Reilly
11. Drunken Sailor - Dave Thomas
12. Farewell Nancy - Ed Harcourt
13. Hanging Johnny - Stan Ridgway
14. Old Man of The Sea - Baby Gramps
15. Greenland Whale Fisheries - Van Dyke Parks
16. Shallow Brown - Sting
17. The Grey Funnel Line - Jolie Holland
18. A Drop of Nelson's Blood - Jarvis Cocker
19. Leave Her Johnny - Lou Reed
20. Little Boy Billy - Ralph Steadman

I'm surprised Johnny didn't talk Keith into this as well. Richards singing a pirate song? I'm in for it!

For crying out loud, if Sting and Bono can do it

Also, according to Wikipedia, Keith's character name in Pirates may be "Captain Grant Sparrow". Ooo, I can't wait

FotiniD OK, so I'm in Pirates mood all day today.
If you do a search for "Captain Grant Sparrow" you can discover various stuff and among them some "leaked" pages of the script. Now we don't know if that's 100% correct or if this is the way it's going to be shot, but I thought you'd like this little part:

----------------------------------------------------
BOOTSTRAP BILL (note: Will Turner's [Orlando Bloom's] father) sits at a campfire talking to someone OC.

BILL: I need to find him...he's...my son.

VOICE: You have a son?

BILL: Yes.

VOICE: I have a son as well. In these very waters. I'll help you find yours if you help uncover mine.

The owner of the VOICE leans into the fire and we see his face.

CAPTAIN GRANT "The Sea Sponge" SPARROW: Savvy?

----------------------------------------------------

Just picture the scene, Keith's deep voice and then that face lit by the fire and the man saying "Savvy?".

IMBD is vague, says the movie is still in production, but slated for sometime in 2007

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449088/ but yahoo has a bit more info here:

when i was recently on grand bahama island, i made a trek out to the movie set where 2 and 3 were filmed. the pirate ship was still docked there. the movie set is an old military base located on the east end of the island in the middle of nowhere. disney completely trashed out the landscape and failed to replant and refurbish the property as they had promised.

Maybe the Stones should throw a concert to restore the island!

Jaxx been going there for years and i have to say that island is in a bad way, physically--from last year's hurricane destruction, economically because hotel and casino owners took their insurance money and left. as i was leaving, however, i heard that the princess hotel (720 rooms and the heart of the tourism)was finally purchased and slated to open in 6 months. for the sake of the locals, i hope it happens as there is a group that wants to turn this paradise into a manufacturing mecca. yuck.

corgi37 All that is left to do is film Keith's part. October i believe. But, of more interest, is one of the artists on cd. Jack Shit!

Indeed.
