Dan I saw Morrissey at the Universal Amphitheatre in Nov 2004. Was offered a free ticket to run audio and play lookout for a filmer. I mainly accepted because Nancy Sinatra was opening. And I was assured Morrissey never plays more than 75-80 mins. Unfortunately he played about 110. It was alright up until about the 75 minute mark. Then I after that I kept telling myself "This has gotta be the last song, right?"

pdog He did get The NY Dolls back together, so he's not all bad... Only 99% bad!
Johnny Marr is a good guitarist too!

Honky Tonk Man The Smiths were an amazing band. Morrissey and Marr were the greatest writing duos of the 1980’s and they changed so many people’s lives for the better. Every album is an absolute classic and anyone who shows disrespect should be castrated for having no appreciation for decent groundbreaking music.

Riffahard, as Morrissey once famously sang… “Hang the DJ”

You sir, should be ashamed.

glencar I even like some of his older solo stuff. But this new stuff is pretty drab.

Jair Too 80's! No more, thanks!

I did give away all my Smiths CDs. I kept Morrissey "Viva Hate", its nice, in spite of being also 80's...

Never heard of him!

However, Johnny Marr was the coolest guitarist of the 1980's

glencar He won the American Idol show here. Well, actually came in 2nd place but it feels like he won. Johnny Marr was great. Does he still play?

Yes. After the demise of The Smiths, he teamed up with New Order frontman Bernard Sumner n a group called Electronic. He has since performed with a group called The Healers who in the past have featured Zak Starkey on drums.

glencar I bought the Electronic CD but that was at least a dozen tears ago.
