Bluzian Well to all of you who were wondering, the Bob Plant / WHO
show at the Palace of Auburn Hills last Friday rocked!!!!!

Much like the Concert for NewYork, the Who blew me away!!!
Bob Plant was superb, especially on the slower "warmer"
accoustic ditties like "Going to California" and "Babe, I'm
Gonna Leave You~". Surprisingly, Plant did NOT do the new
"Darkness" tune...

The Who were brilliant! Songs like "Bargain" "Substitute"
and "Baba O'Reily" were fucking KILLER!!!!!!!

My only contempt was that it was not loud enough!!!!!!!! :-(

Cheers!

Soul Survivor I was there, did you see when that woman flashed the cameras?
08-26-02 11:18 AM
Lazy Bones Ian, are you seeing the 28th September show in Toronto?
08-26-02 11:27 AM
Boomhauer I was there! Ian, yes it was not loud enough. They should have plugged into the arenas system.

I was up in section 220. Man it was a rainy night, but the WHO fucking rocked it, and Daltrey was preaching, Townshend was shredding, Starkey was banging, Palladino was thumping, and Pete's brother was getting the "High" notes.

On 94.7 in Detroit, they said that Pete said they are going into the studio to try some new stuff.

Bluzian LazyBones,

Na, not going to go because when I purchased the Detroit
tickets, there was not a T.O. date in sight, so, being the
eager-anxious impatient concert nutter that I am, I *HAD*
to see them as the earliest convenience. This was my third
time seeing them (First time at the Prince's Trust concert
that the header pic of RonWood & Dylan is from) and they
were fucking amazing then! I feel that I no longer need to
see them because they can't get any better!!! Im not a
gambler, so, when get a few good shows, I'm not going to
get greedy. My memory of The Who in Detroit-RockCity will
remain fully-intact!! :-)

Yeah, I was in sec. 218!!!! And I was not too happy with
the fellow concert goers getting up and down for beer and
pee breaks incessantly during the entire show. NEVER in all
the shows combined have I ever had to stand up as many
times as I did on Friday night to allow people to get up
and down for concessions/washrooms. Talk about inconvenienced!?!
Jesus!!%#)(*&%@#%@# People kept telling me to sit down, and
they didn't like my pot-smoking. I thought, christ, why
didn't they all just stay at home? (the majority of the
people in my section were 50+). I think (at 27) I knew more
tunes than they did, and that's peculiar to me.

Anyways.. GO SEE THE WHO!!!!!!!!!!!!! They're TIGHT!!!
(and believe you me, I am the toughest concert critic in
the world, so, I figure if it passes my standards, brother,
it's fucking worth the money!) I drove all day and drove
back that night just for the show. I'd do it again in a
heartbeat it was THAT GOOD!!!!!!!!! *phew*

Next one for me is the Stones in T.O. I'm a bit reluctant,
cos' I don't know how it will turn out.

How'd y'all like that letter to the editor in the Star on
Saturday?? *LOL*

Cheers,
Ian

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board. The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
