Rolling Stones Update: Residence and guest passes to be delivered to Magnetic Hill area households
Moncton — City of Moncton officials will be going door-to-door on August 24 and 25 delivering residence/household and guest passes to Magnetic Hill area homes. Residences located on Front Mountain Road, Gorge Road, Ammon Road, Timberline Road, Whitfield Trites Road, Briggs Cross Road and Mountain Road from Magic Mountain to Route 126 will receive up to five one-time use vehicle passes for use during the controlled access period (Saturday September 3 at 6 a.m. to Sunday September 4 at the discretion of authorities). Each household will also receive 20 guest passes that will allow for friends and family to visit. Guest passes are site specific and will be numbered for the property in question. Access onto Front Mountain Road between Gorge Road and Route 126 will be restricted to pedestrians only and is limited to those individuals with concert tickets or a guest/residence pass for a Front Mountain Road residence.
“The original traffic plan called for restrictions to begin at 10 p.m. on Friday, September 2,” says Ian Fowler, Director of the City of Moncton's Community Services Department. “However after hearing the concerns of residents, we've moved the time up so that residents can use their cars unencumbered until 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3. As of 6 a.m., traffic restrictions in the Magnetic Hill area will be implemented by the RCMP at their discretion based on public safety and traffic volumes.”
A newsletter is also being distributed door-to-door to Magnetic Hill area residents today. The newsletter addresses the concerns residents voiced at the August 11 residents meeting. (A copy of the newsletter is attached.)
Those interested in selling food to concertgoers (on site or near the site) are also reminded that they must seek approval from the provincial department of Public Health. Only those vendors who have a letter of approval from the department of Public Health will be permitted to sell food.
Also concertgoers who will be driving to the site are reminded to pick up their parking passes at Irving Blue Canoe and Mainway service centres across Atlantic Canada. Passes are $15 dollars each. Parking information is also now available with the purchase of these passes.
