Flairville Just wondering if anyone has any ideas? I'm quite shocked that nothing from the 3 shows have surfaced yet

Angiegirl Yes, me too. No Phoenix either? It will be among us no doubt...

Madafaka Yes, it's unbelievable!

Dan I got a spam email of someone selling DVDs of both nights. (I bought VHS from this guy several years ago), I have no intention of buying since I have more than enough trade bait for when they surface in the usual circles.
August 24th, 2005 02:12 PM
throbby It was like going through airport security at Fenway. A wand metal detector run over your entire body. The searching of all hand bags. The "Not Enough Security Tour", if you ask me.

Wouldn't the handbag rifling be considered an illegal search in some areas? Or does Fenway security supercede the Constitution? Calling for RO attorney review.

nankerphelge Sorry -- your ticket is considered a license under the law. If you read the back of it, it likely reads "YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS THERE BUDDY - WE CAN KICK YOU OUT FOR LOOKING AT US FUNNY"

Essentially, they are letting you into their private property under their terms. That likely means you have no reasonable expectation to privacy under the Constitution, thus they can search your body cavities if need be!

Or you can walk out and avoid it. The license, however, is bound by contractual law in nature and Mass. has a requirement of 'reasonableness' in ALL contracts.....so there IS some small limit to what they could do. But not much. You don't want your bag rifled through, turn around.....I had a metal flask of Jamesons on opening night, but when seeing the guy in front of me get wanded, my buddy and I had to guzzle it and then toss it before the gate....ah, the sacrifice...

throbby Thanks for the input guys.

nankerphelge Most states have a "reasonableness" standard in contract law. It is just a question as to what any given state considers reasonable.

Searching someone's bag and person will likely be found reasonable for one of a variety of reasons -- safety, to prevent contraband, etc.

Good to see you have fine taste in Irish Whiskey there Jizzbo!

Have you tried Jameson's Gold yet?
It isn't available everywhere, but i bet it is in Boston.
if not, find someone going to London or Dublin and have them pick you up a bottle.

You can thank me later!

scope When I saw them wanding people, I was worried about getting in with my digital camera. I had bought a tee-shirt and program outside, so I threw the camera in that bag and held it up in my hands as the wand went over me. The wand came no where near the bag. He took a quick look inside the bag and in I went.
Has anyone ever had to surrender a camera? I would hope you got a voucher for it to pick up later, which would be an incredible hassle but worth it to get your camera back.

Dan Wands are usually a piece of cake. I've had to turn around and walk away and once had to leave a recorder at coat check at the Universal. I got all nervous about it being there and decided to leave before the encore. No one escorted me out so I walked right back in and taped the encore.

I'm in Rhode Island actually...but I get over to Ireland (5 of my great-grandparent came from South Armagh) or my dad gets over often enough to have 'em all. My personal preference (other than fancy reserve stuff like Jameson's 1708 or Bushmill's 16 year) is Paddy's. I do not believe it is sold anywhere in the US. Anybody?

If you ever go to Ireland, visit the Bushmill's distillery in the town of the same name...great tour, taste tests, a company store with reserve and aged stuff unavailable anywhere else. The roomfull of casks is breath-taking! And the Giant's Causeway is a hop, skip, and a jump next door..

I got my camera taken off me at the Astoria after about 5 songs...never saw it again

Two nights later I was hauled out in the middle of the opening song at Wembley for taking photos...I thoughT i was gonna be kicked out and I was in the 9th row! - .but they were actually quite nice about it,...gave me a ticket to pick it up again later as if I'd left my coat in or something and I was able to go back to my seat
